A good article about the Mugs can be found at http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/disney-refillable-mugs/
Does the soda fountain have coke or pepsi products?
I have the DDP for my trip in October, so we will get the mugs. My only problem is that they are very small. Can I fill a large Tervis Tumbler with ice, then just use my mug for the actual drink? I can put my drink over ice at the table. This is especially nice if I am laying by the pool. I can't get my chill on if I have run for soda every 20 minutes!

what if you stay longer than 14 days? do you need to buy another mug?All mugs are coded for 14 days, regardless of your length of stay.![]()
If you're legitimately there for longer than 14 days, they will reset the mug to make sure it's valid for the entire stay. You'll need to keep your receipt.what if you stay longer than 14 days? do you need to buy another mug?
Ahhh.. We got the cups with our DDP last vaca, was really hoping the change would have been leak proof tops, lol.. maybe next time![]()
I totally get what you mean about "Nickeled and dimed" but in the same token, why do you need to refill a 16 ounce mug more frequently then every 3 minutes? Coffee/Cocoa is too hot, and Soda (imo) is too much sugar. If you are that thirsty, water is a better "Quencher".SAME! We aren't fans of the mugs for a few reason, the leaking being one of them. But if we get the dining plan and they are included, then we are fans.We were really disappointed with the chips in the regular cups. We felt like we were being nickled and dimed on a $5k vacation... SIGH but it is what it is. It gave my older teen son who is planning on going into Engineering something to focus on though. He played with the chips, covering them, trying different strategies and honestly sometimes he was able to refill sooner than he should have.

As far as the cups "Leaking" I have not experienced this with our mugs unless the lid is not on tightly. Sometimes, however, if you drink the soda (or possibly Cocoa) you can get a build up on the rim of the mug (or lid) that makes it not seat tightly enough and it can leak while attempting to drink. Usually you can give it a good cleaning and it is back to normal. I still use my Disney mug on a regular basis (from November 2014) with no issues.
