Referral Incentives for BLT?

Confirmed with a senior guide 10 min ago...
Guess I was a few days early......As of 2/1 BLT 1st time buyers DO GET the $500 gift card.

Other changes to my above quote are:

BLT...normally $130, $15. discount, final price $115. per pt.

I cant imagine being a BLT 1st time buyer and not getting the GC last week....and this week save $2. per pt. PLUS getting a GC. !!! Definitely tick me off!!

Carol - This is potentially huge for me. We just joined last week. Just filled out and mailed the paperwork today so I guess we have not closed yet.

Is the $15 discount at the $100 level or $160 level (and if it is at the $100 level is there a larger discount at the $160 level)?

I will be on the phone with my guide first thing tomorrow/this morning. Can you PM me your guide just in case I am not getting the same answer from mine?

Dziactor.... I didn't ask and don't know that answer.
Just that.. 2/1 tweaked the rules for BLT and Disney is looking to sell out the resort by June.
Also that on 3/7 BLT will go to $140. per pt....

I just got off the phone with my guide (hello Cathy!). She confirmed that as of 02/01 the additional $2 per point + $500 gift card incentive DOES apply to BLT!

This was great as we just bought at BLT late last week but had not closed yet!

And just in time as we are leaving for our first DVC stay this Sunday. By the time we got home from that trip we may have missed the boat on changing our contract. Considering the high cost of BLT points, it would have really smarted to come back and see that I just missed the new incentives!

It appears a call to my guide is first on my list this morning. We added on just this Monday and haven't even received the paperwork yet, so I am assuming I can get the price adjustment. Is the $500 gift card applicable to an add on or just for a referral?

I am not sure if add-ons are eligible. I should have asked our guide just so I knew.

senecabeach reported that the incentives were for 1st time BLT buyers (which we are). I don't know if that means that just 1st-time DVC buyers (which we are) are eligible. Add-on are eligible for the identical $2/point and $500 gift card referral incentives for AK, SSR, and Aulani. So I would assume that add-ons are eligible for the incentives at BLT as well.

Let us know what you find out!

Thanks Jjk3, I will call my guide to confirm and then post when I know something unless someone else reports before me. Our guide is at the Doorway to Dreams store in Woofield, so I have to wait until 10 am when it opens. It never hurts to double check that is for sure. Thanks again!

I know I am very grateful I found out before it was too late. Having paid more $$ to get BLT it is definitely a nice bonus to get a little relief (especially since we already signed but did not close yet).

And a great early start to our first DVC trip, which begins this Sunday!

I hit redial for the number my guide called me from on Monday and although my guide is from the Doorway to Dreams in Woodfield I was connected to the DVC in Orlando....LOL! It must be a general number. Anyway the woman who answered tried to directly connect me to my guide and then to Woodfield but no one seemed to answer so I ended up connected to another guide in the Orlando office. He told me that incentives did change on 2/1 (as others have posted) and that my add on of 170 would qualifiy for the additional $2 off and the $500 gift card. He did mention that for the Doorway To Dreams in Woodfield it was only the phone sales that were getting the addtional $2 off, those who purchased in person wouldn't get that. I left a message for my actual guide at Doorway to Dreams to rewrite the contract and will also clarify this with her when we talk. I have been looking for the right resale contract in terms of points and UY but couldn't find one so we just decided to go direct. So this is very good news for us, certainly a nice surprise.

The $500 VISA Gift Card is now available for BLT, AKV and Aulani.

It is no longer available for SSR purchases, however, you can purchase there for $99 per point.

Discounts are now as follows: BLT $130 minus $13; AKV $120 minus $18 and Aulani $120 minus $12 or $18.

There is an additional $2 per point off for those purchasing via the TeleSales Department only. That is for telephone purchases. Those making their purchase in person would not qualify for this extra discount.

I hope this helps explain some of the discounts that are being discussed here on the DIS.

Called my guide on this today. He stated it would work for me and he would work on switching me tomorrow. The hard part is I have a Feb use year and I was getting 2010 points. The $700 in savings is more important than those points.
