Has anyone ever redeemed their chase disney visa rewards when they arrived at WDW? Website says guest services at MK city hall can do it.

We've gotten Redemption Cards at DTD (next to Marketplace Guest Relations) & Epcot. Once you get the Redemption Card, you need to call Chase to have your Reward Dollars transferred on to it.

Anhyone know how long it takes for points to post to their account? My payment is due in sept. for nov. trip. Would like to use reward dollars on my trip.:confused3

Points post when your statement cycle ends, so you get points every month. If you've got at least 20 points, you can order a redemption card, which you can then use on your trip.

I also believe you have to have at least 10pts to transfer over to your redemption card.

True, so what I do is order the card a couple of months in advance with the minimum number of points, then I wait until my last statement cuts before my trip to transfer the rest. (If I were to order with all the points I have at that time, I might not earn another 10 prior to the trip and I want to be able to use all of the points I've earned up to that point. And while you can get the card at WDW, I'd rather already have it in hand, fully loaded.)

I just talked to the fine folks at city hall in MK. All you need is your chase disney visa and a photo ID. Once you have the redemption card, you call to activate it. The young man said it only takes a few minutes. Hopefully it all works out, I've got quite a bit of rewards saved up!

Just find a quiet out of the way place to make your phone call. You do need to give your credit card number and other info so it's best to be in a more secluded area.

You can also transfer points online, very easily, and with a bit more privacy then a phone call :thumbsup2

I usually have our card in hand when we go with some of our rewards $$$s on it to use right away and then we just charge things to our room. Every few nights I stop by the front desk and get an itemized statement of room charges and then head to the room to transfer that amount of rewards $$$s to our card to pay off the room charges.

I do this so that I don't end up putting more rewards on the card then we need for that trip.

Hope you have a great time!

If you pickup a Redemption Card while at WDW, you have to call because that Redemption Card is not yet linked with your account.

You can use your Redemption Card to purchase (or reload) a Disney Gift Card ($5 minimum). If you have a Redemption Card that's about to expire, this is a way to extend that since Disney Gift Cards never expire.

If you automatically went with the standard Disney card to avoid the $49 annual fee, you may want to reconsider. They will upgrade you with a phone call. You do not get 2% back unless your card is a premium card; you get 1% back on everything. 2% with premium card comes from airline tickets to Disney, any Disney purchases, groceries and gas. I use the card now for everything, I got the $49 just in groceries and gas for 2 months.

Also, I would not wait to get your redemption card. If you are technically phobic, Chase will mail you a card and you will get it within 5 business days. I called on a Thursday night and received it in Tuesday's mail.

Does anyone know if reward dollars can be used for tips at restaurants? We are on the DDP, but we wanted to use our money for tips.. Thanks!

The rewards card is like a Disney gift card. As far as I can tell if you can use a GC on it you can use your rewards points.

And I know 100% you can use them for meals and tip. The main places I've found you can are like the light up glow carts before a night time parade. But I've used it for things like pop corn at the MK entrance.

Yes, you can use it for tips, but be careful. There will be receipts galore, and it's easy for things to get confused and you can end up double tipping. It's happened to us on two occasions, and I am pretty anal about watching every penny on the rewards cards. I don't know if it was my mistake or the outcome of an "opportunistic" server, but twice I had to deal with guest services, get the second tip reversed, and credited back to my account. It's confusing, and it happened over 5 years ago and I don't now remember all the details… so just be careful, watch your rewards balance, and keep all receipts.
(you should keep your receipts and monitor remaining credits in your dining plan, too.)

We always order our card with the minimum amount required and then right before the trip I transfer the rest of the rewards over via the website.

I've always found it easiest to charge everything back to my room and they pay off the room balance with the rewards card.
