Trip participants Me Age 37, DW 35, DD 10, DS 7.
August 7 18th.
This was to be our third trip together as a family (all in August), the longest one yet, 5 nights at AKL selected by the children and 6 nights at CR, selected by the wife. Weve stayed at the CR and WL before. I decided back in March to use Dreams Unlimited to book the trip even though previously I had done everything myself. I had Beth C. as my DU agent.
I first booked everything with a AAA rate got a standard room at AKL and a standard wing at the CR. When AP rates came out Beth was able to switch me to a Pool View at AKL and standard at CR at lower rates. When the August code came out I had her switch me to those rates and back to a standard room at AKL. Beth was able to do everything I asked for, including making PSs. I was very happy with their service and wouldnt hesitate to use them again.
Since we were going for 12 days and I always like a few down days I originally planned on buying 7-day PHPs, toyed with the idea of buying an AP, but when I read on the DIS about the 30 day Fun In the Sun pass with breakfast vouchers and read about peoples success in using them, I gave Paramount Travel (Rosa) a call and purchased the FITS passes. We had no problems using them or the breakfast voucher and it gave us unlimited in/out to all parks/water parks/DisneyQuest etc making our day plans very flexible.
We normally drive from Chicago to Orlando, as I enjoy driving and so does the family but Southwest came out with $135 roundtrip tickets so I asked the kids if they wanted to experience their first flight and the answer was yes. In researching for towncar transportation, since I didnt want to have a rental car, I read nothing buy high praise for Quicksilver and I booked with them. The flight down and back was smooth, only 25 people on the plane on the way back, and Quicksilver was on-time, courteous, and provided the grocery stop at Publix. I would recommend them again to anyone and already have.
Next up Ill give actually trip details, including our experience with Charley.
