I saw a Hallmark commercial about the recordable books. We went to check it out. They have three books, one of which is Twas the Night Before Christmas. These books are $30 a pop! We are due to have a baby and his mother lives in New York. We are in Florida. She is coming down in two weeks to see the baby and help out while I recover. I saw that commercial and instantly thought of her. She can record the stories while she is here and Olivia can grow up getting to hear Nana read her stories to her. Seemed like a great solution. But $90 for three books is rather pushing it. I will buy the one definitely but was wondering if there were any other books out there like that. I haven't been to the book store in forever and didn't want to make a trip across town just for that. Any ideas?

If you have a video camera, you can record her reading some stories (any books will do--they'll be extra special since Grandma reads them) and then she can 'see' Grandma and have a special story time with her as well. :goodvibes

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't think of that. We are planning on getting a camcorder but just haven't. Our digital camera takes video though and I could upload them to the computer and she could watch them there. That is a great idea and loads cheaper!
