I am looking at going to Disney for Christmas again this year. I have stayed in a house through All Star Vacation Homes a number of times in the past and may end up using them again, but wanted to see if any fellow Disers had some house recommendations to pass along.....tia :worship:

We have stayed in two different 5 bedroom villas- both in Indian Creek both managed by Alexander Homes http://www.floridasunshine.com/ . One was called Suncatcher http://www.suncatchervilla.com/ and the other Golden Springs http://www.palmgroves.co.uk/ . We rented directly through the owners- all looked exactly as pictured and were very well stocked. We had an issue with the hot tub (took a week to repair) at Golden Springs and the hot tub at Suncatcher was MUCH better if that is important to you. Both villas had owners that were great to work with.

We stayed in a condo at Emerald Island in March, but there are also vacation homes there as well. We rented through 1st for Orlando website, and they are cheaper to rent through than All Star Vacation homes. By using the back way into Disney property via Sherberth Rd, Emerald Island wasn't even 5 minutes from Disney property. :)

Thank you so much to everyone that provided me with wonderful recommendations. I ended up booking the Windsor Hills Castle in the Sky that Sypmatico suggested. :yay:

Would love to hear what you think of the accommodations after your trip.

Thx
Ted

I will keep you posted. We just returned from a Disney trip with my husband's family (14 people in total). We stayed in a 7 bedroom house in Emerald Island and were very very disappointed with the house. The bottom step was no longer carpeted, there were stains on the carpets everywhere, the furniture was not put together properly, the kitchen was not well stocked, the people renting before us had put soap in the hot tub, so we were not allowed to use the pool or spa for the first day, the BBQ was out of propane, once a new propane tank was hooked up it was found that one of the elements in the BBQ was no longer working, the dishwasher had the wrong bottom shelf in it, which blocked the soap dispenser from opening, the wireless internet was not working.....I could probably go on and on.

However, we did not let this damper our wonderful Disney vacation. I am just being extra careful with the next house we rent and after speaking with the home owner of the Castle in the Sky I am confident that this house is going to surpass my expectations.

Do you still have the website for that house? We're going to rent a 7 bedroom in Em Is this fall but don't want that one.
Just want to know what to avoid.

Thanks. We haven't booked anything yet, still have to settle on exact dates. We're still in the looking stage.
