Recommendation for large group?

Anyone want to recommend a restaurant for our large group? We'll have 14 people - possibly 16. All ages - grandparents, regular adults, teenagers and school age princesses.

We are already planning:
Ohana
Biergarten
a TS in MGM

I need one more for the group. We are planning to all split up and go our own way each day - but meet for dinner together. I'd like to find a place that is relatively easy for everyone to get to from the different places they might be. So I'm thinking a resort along the monorail or one of the WS countries or a place along the boardwalk between Epcot and DHS.

We don't need a character meal - someplace fun is good though. We don't want one of the signature places that is wayyy pricey. Just regular pricey is OK. I've thought of Cape May Buffet and maybe Kona. But I need some other recommendations.

I'd recommend Chef Mickey. It's roughly the same price as Ohana and Cape May (about $2-$3 more). It's also on the monorail and easy to get to.

Before you go in, they have a group photo. You can either buy a picture package there, or order prints later with the Photo Pass. It turned out to be one of the best pictures of our trip. We've got it in the living room in a Mickey frame we bought at Downtown Disney.

I don't know what your group is like. Most of the people in our group (seven adults and seniors) had no interest in wasting valuable ride-time getting character pictures in the parks. And many of them felt that meeting the characters was just for little kids. But we had lots of fun and got tons of great pictures with the characters at Chef Mickeys.

Have you thought about Whispering Canyon Cafe. That would be fun and it's just a 15 min. boat ride from MK.

We always go with a large group too (14 this trip!) and love Whispering Canyon Cafe. We also went there for my sister's wedding dinner with about 65 people and they are great about accomodating large groups. No characters, but the waitstaff....they are a hoot! Also, not too pricey if you get the all you can eat skillet.

You are limited on the Boardwalk I think.

ESPN Club and Big River Grille and Brewing Works do not take reservations and Big River is kind of small I think for a big group.

Flying Fish and Spoodles both take reservations and I would check out their menus on allears.net to see if there's anything you'd like there.

Across the way at the Beach Club they do have the clam bake buffet at Cape May, although lots of people say they have enough "non fish" choices, I am not a big fish eater and for the money, I'd rather have more things to choose from than what they served.

A very nice, quiet place is the Captain's Table at the Yacht Club they would be nice for a large group and do take reservations.

I would not say any of these are "fun", they are sit down, order from the menu type. Good food, but just regular restaurants. (Except Cape May which is buffet, but not really "fun")

My choice for a fun meal would still be Whispering Canyon Cafe. If you want to go to the Boardwalk, I'd do that separate.

For TS at DHS for your group maybe 50's Prime Time would be fun, unless you want a character meal, then they have Hollywood and Vine. Sci Fi is always fun, but I'm not sure if larger groups get seated at the tables or get to sit in the cars, if you sat in the cars, you'd be divided up I think.


As far as WS goes, for you group the Biergarten is probably the nicest place. They have nice big tables. All the rest are sit down, order from the menu type, so if you'd do that, I'd just choose a cuisine you think everyone would like.



AND again, I'd still choose Whispering Canyon especially if you're looking for something fun and they also have a family style all you can eat choice with good home style food.
