I don't think you're being either. I was just concerned that you might be buying additional DVC points when there might be a better option for your family. Believe it or not, that has happened before!

Only you can evaluate whether this is the right move for your family or not, but I agree with most of the other posters that you have to evaluate your deal and forget about all the other noise.

What's the objective to buying your points. I brought my add ons because I was having fabulous vacations and wanted to have extra time. I called and got a deal I was comfortable with.
If you recind who are you making a point too? Who is affected? Not Disney?

I agree with CarolM, decisions made by emotions generally are the ones you regret.

Another vote to strip the emotion from your decision and decide what is the best use of your vacation dollars for your family.

I was going to edit my prior post to add this, but this is really a different point, so I'll post again.

Don't allow yourself, for even one minute, to think that Disney is in the timeshare business for any reason other than profit. Membership is not family. Welcome Home is a marketing slogan. DVD is exactly like every other developer in the universe---they are out to make a buck. They do it a little differently, but that's not because their hearts are pure. It is because they have a brand to stand behind that gives them certain advantages in the market. Pure and simple.

This is a business relationship, and nothing more. The sooner you embrace that idea, the happier you'll be.

Well just to follow up I canceled the contract and just put in an offer for BWV resale now it just has to pass ROFR. I guess I'm just pig headed or maybe deep down wasn't sold on the BLT location over the EPCOT
