I'm sooo excited!!!!!!! I got my papers for 180 pts. at Boardwalk :cool1:
I asked my guide about Boardwalk because I really didn't feel good about the purchase of SSR. I know it's beautiful but my "gut feeling" is that I wouldn't be happy at SSR. We're lovers of the Boardwalk area and EPCOT so it seems PERFECT for us. Hopefully, everything goes through. We are financing through WDW. Will keep you all updated.

you can do that? You can buy into SSR, and then change it to BW ? I wanted to do that, and I didn't think you could. WE just got our papers and before we notorize them, should we look into it too?

Congratulations! :cool1:

Would you mind telling me a bit about your experience? I plan on doing exactly what you did -- buying BWV through Disney w/ Disney financing. Did you have any problems getting points for that resort?

Again, Congrats!!! :goodvibes

Congratulations & Welcome Home!

HAPPY "MAGICAL" VACATIONING,
Tom & Staff :rockband: :dancer: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Actually I don't think the OP bought at SSR. You can buy direct thru Disney at all the soldout resorts (I think BCV is the only one with a current waitlist) for 92 dollars per point with a minimum buy in of 150 points if you are not already a member. If you bought SSR with F&F discount you would be giving up 12 extra years and paying almost 9 dollars per point more.

Exactly. Buying anything other than SSR makes no sense to me especially when the F&F offe was out there. Unless you must have an Epcot Resort for F&W Fest. buy SSR and stay at the Epcot Resorts. Three straight trips plus an upcoming trip Feb. 27th will be at BCV. Guess what, I own SSR and have no problems booking BCV or BWV at 7 months or less. The OP listened a little to hard to the "buy where you want to stay people". Those 12 extra years combined with the lower price with F&F made a SSR purchase a no brainer. 12 years of use is money in the bank. I wonder how the OP and others who have purchased older DVC Resorts will feel when the resale values start dropping like a rock? There DVC purchase will be selling for pennies on the dollar, sooner rather than later. A contract with only half the years left will be worth half the price. SSR will have a good resale value for many years to come. Can we say that about BWV? :confused3 Only time will tell.

Congratulations! We're also lovers of the Boardwalk area and purchased a BWV resale for the same reason you purchased at BWV. I hope everything goes through for you!! :Pinkbounc

No, I didn't buy into SSR. I called my guide and asked if there were points to be had at BWV's and he called back (I don't think it was on the same day but a day or two later) and told me I could buy into BWV's. The reason why I didn't want to buy into SSR is because I LOVE the Boardwalk area. I would be able to feel comfy not going into the parks each day buy hanging on the Boardwalk and just watching people, activities that are going on etc. Also, EPCOT is our favorite park and we could walk there!!! And we like that if we want to walk to MGM, it's close enough also. How great is that for someone who loves the area too!!! I like to go into the DTD area for a day but I don't particularly like the area. My grown children also prefer the Boardwalk to DTD and PI. There are a HOST of other reasons BUT to save space and not waste your reading time... I'll quit here... BUT let me say to the person who can't see the logic in it when SSR is there for more time....(And I don't mean any sarcasm to you so I hope it doesn't sound that way) I didn't get my stuff together in time for the F&F. I do realize that SSR is less expensive for more years but I figure I'll be around 80++ years old when my time runs out at BWV's. From the knowledge I've gained through years in the health field, I'd say by the time my hubby and I are 80++, we will more than likely NOT be be-bopping down from the NORTH to FLA. every couple of years!!!! Why not make the resort that you like the best that best fits your park preferences be your home resort!!!!!Especially when you vacation during the "peak periods" and probably would have to book in your home resort during those times!!! I'm not worried about the extra years I'd be willing to my kids either , they're getting "the farm"!!! The resort is MINE and my DH's and if in the meantime we pass, they can have fun for whatever time is left!!!
