recently single... have no idea how to enjoy the park on my own.

How do single guys and girls enjoy the parks? What are little fun things to do one might of forgotten about that haven't been single for years?

The nice thing about going there alone (no matter the reason) is that YOU are the boss. You can do whatever little or big thing your heart desires.

Agree with above. Defenitely make this YOUR vacation, and maybe list some things you'd really like to do. You can even take a mini trip outside of DL for a day and go sightseeing. I'd enjoy myself and wine and dine. Hit up the restaurants, have some wine, since you're only paying for 1, I'd think you can indulge more.

I've gone to the park several time by myself and I always enjoy it! Like bumbershot said...You're the boss and you can do whatever you want when you go solo. But you know what? I never really feel alone at the park when I'm by myself. I standing in line and and always meet the nicest people! Most of them are surprised that I'm by myself and sometimes want to take me under their wing and say "come eat with us" or come ride another ride with us!". You're never really "alone" at Disneyland!

Excellent point! I've never been taken under someone's wing, but I've gotten into nice conversations with all sorts of people.

I think it's nice to have the choice to enjoy the park alone or with any of your friends. I had friends who liked to do different things so it was a different park experience with each of them. By myself, well, it was the experience I wanted to have. Exploring little things like listening to the party line conversation in the general store on Main Street, riding the trolley cars, checking out rides and shows I'd never seen before, just sitting and watching the birds and ducks, all at the pace I liked. It can actually be wonderfully freeing.

I've been going to DL by myself so many times I cannot keep count. I really enjoy having control of doing what I want when I want (as others have mentioned). I've enjoyed single rider lines and moving fast through lines when they are looking for one person. I have also done several tours and look forward to going on a holiday tour starting next month. I also found that I have no problem striking up conversations with strangers and having lunch/dinner alone.
If you feel uncomfortable about going to the parks alone you can always post something about meeting some fellow Disboarders at the parks. I've done it once and we had a great time.

It probably goes without saying but it's not like in the parks you must be spouse-escorted or solo.

Also going solo after my 6 year relationship. I'm excited about it, I know there are going to be moments where I feel lonely or bring back memories, but I accept that and am prepared.
I booked F! dessert and the Holiday time tour to help keep me around people and having fun.

I have been to the DLR alone many times. As Disneyluvr2 stated you are never really alone. You'll be surprised how much fun you'll have. With that being said, I prefer counter service meals when I am alone. That way I can sit and watch people while I eat. Sitting at a table alone, can bring me down making me miss my Family and friends. Go and have fun!

I did this for a few days (including the 24hr Disney Day) back in February. It was a great experience and you'd be surprised at how much you can accomplish when you aren't waiting for other people to catch up, go to the bathroom, finish their meal, or decide what exactly they want to do next. Single rider lines and filling single spots on rides is a nice perk too. I found eating by myself not too awkward......but I also had an iPad to pass the time with.

The worst part of the trip was the 2 hour delay by the border guards.....apparently it is uncommon for a single male to travel to Disneyland by himself. They stopped short of the rubber glove treatment.......but I'm glad I left a lot of time to catch my flight.

So far, I've always gone to DL with a friend, but we split up often, and I enjoy being on my own in the park.

Like previous posters have said, it's great fun being able to do what you want, when you want, without having to consider someone else. I also find that it's much easier to move around the parks when they get crowded if I'm on my own.

I will add this, though: Don't be afraid to treat yourself to a solo dinner at one of the table service restaurants. The experience of dining alone can take some getting used to, but Disneyland has such great themed restaurants that you'll always have something to see, and excellent people-watching at the places with outdoor seating.

I'm a single mom. I usually go with my friends who have children. I've never gone by myself but if you're asking how to do the parks without a significant other.... It's the same except for the fighting, arguments, expenses for the extra person, and you get to chose what you want to do on your schedule!!!! I actually enjoy going to the parks without a significant other. It's more relaxing you'll be just fine. Enjoy your time to be you!

I'm a single Disney loving gal and wish I could find my Disney guy. Heck I would be happy with a Disney vacation club membership instead of an engagement ring if the opportunity ever presented itself! Lol. But like everyone.... Disney solo is fun. Dole whips for dinner. Sure!
