Recently back from a Disney Noshfest!!! Reviews w/pics!!(Updated 5/19 Be Our Guest!!)

You say... "This is a mockery of Lobster" You are a fellow New Englander, its one of the Lobster Commandments

"Thou shalt not take the name of Lobster Roll in vain"

Right under
"Thou shalt not use anything but melted butter to dip your steamed Lobster in"
and
"Thou shalt not drown your roll in mayo"
:rotfl:

I am a native New Englander too, from Maine....lobster roll is supposed to be lobster with only the barest minimum of mayo to hold it together. On a buttered, toasted roll. That's why I don't bother ordering them outside of ME when we visit....or possibly MA. ;)

No pressure, but DD's ready to see your BOG pictures... :flower3:

What a great review of one of our favs! I love the food and atmosphere of the Yacthsman. We had a terrible waiter last time we were there, but that food and those steaks are amazing!! I am going solo next weekend for the last weekend of my beloved F&G festival and I am thinking about going solo there, as you are correct they know how to do a steak! What is funny though we have never been able to eat dessert there as we have been too stuffed from all that goodness

Now I want a steak! I am drooling. Great reviews.

Loved the knock-out to dad with the turkey leg! :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2

I highly recommend Yachtsman!! Thanks for reading along!:thumbsup2

Agreed! I see you are now in MD. My mom is a native New Englander living in MD as well, and boy does she miss the seafood! It's the first thing she does when she comes to visit! But....MD is the only place to get crabs!! ::yes::

No pressure, but DD's ready to see your BOG pictures... :flower3:

Ahhhh, I am saving that one...it's worth the wait. :goodvibes

Wow, that steak looks amazing :thumbsup2

I am so hungry right now!!!

Never read dining reviews on an empty stomach!! :rotfl2:

We had no room for dessert either! We were stuffed!

Looks like your ticker overlaps my food and wine trip! :woohoo:

Just waiting for the next review. Can't wait. :thumbsup2

I'm going to carve out some time tonight and get another one out! Thanks for following. :goodvibes

My DH LOVED that pork slider, he had two or three last week when we were there,

I subbed, love food reviews!

OK. Here's a quick, little down and dirty review. Hands down, Via Napoli is the BEST pizza place on property. This was our 2nd time eating here and it won't be the last. The pizza is hot, and delicious. The crust is thin and has that amazing combination of being crunchy on the outside and flaky/chewy inside. The ingredients are fresh...I just love the mozzarella they use here. My picky kids say that they have the best pasta with butter around. :rotfl2: We had awesome, fast service this time around. Happy experience! Only took one picture here...too busy digging in! :goodvibes

I just realized that I have been neglectful to my poor little review. There are more meals that deserve notice! :goodvibes

So, that brings me to Beaches and Cream. I knew that this was one that we really wanted to try, especially staying in the Epcot resort area. We actually had two encounters here. The first time we tried to get in for dinner, we were told that there was a 90 minute wait....:crazy2:

That was the night we ended up going to Captains Grill, we should have just waited. :rotfl2:

Anyway, later that night, after Cpt. Grill, we ended up getting some milkshakes at Beaches and Cream and they were fantastic!! Sorry no pictures.

Then, another day we went to Beaches and Cream right at 11 am (opening time for lunch) and were able to get in right away!! :cool1:

After perusing the menu...I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. :upsidedow
This is not something I would normally order at a restaurant, but a friend had told me that these grilled cheeses were exceptional. She was right!!

Here are some shots of the sandwich.

This was a really great grilled cheese!!! It was hot and toasted to crispy perfection! The cheese was ooey-gooey yumminess! I'm not sure exactly what combination of cheeses is used in it, it it was awesome! :thumbsup2

The tomato bisque that came with it was okay...needed some salt, and could have been hotter (I like my soup really hot).

DH ordered a bacon cheeseburger. (And no, that's not Justin Timberlake...it's DH) :rotfl2:

He said it was good, but wasn't raving about it. I thought that top bun was way too toasted...:confused3

Our girls both got hot dogs. Standard fare. No pictures.

Overall, Beaches and Cream was good. We would eat there again, but most likely only if we were staying in the Epcot area. That grilled cheese was great and I highly recommend it, but I wouldn't say you need to go out of your way to get it. :goodvibes

Ok. So, the restaurant I was most looking forward to was Be Our Guest. Of course, I had made the ADR at 180 days out. I love Beauty & The Beast and had been looking forward to this dining experience since the plans to build it we announced.

I had been reading reviews and was so incredibly nervous about the experience being a letdown...I assure you, it was not.

We had a 6:30 ADR and arrived right around 6:25. We received our pager and it went off around 6:35. We approached the front door to the castle and they handed my youngest DD a candelabra to light the way to our table. I have to tell you, I was astonished by the theming in this place...I nearly shed a tear. I really felt like I had entered the movie.

We were seated in the ballroom, which was absolutely gorgeous. The snow falling in the windows was magical. We also checked out the West Wing which was creepy cool!!!

Our server's name was Buffy and I have to say that she was amazing!!! Super attentive and soooooo nice.

For an appetizer, I ordered a French onion soup for all of us to share. I have since found out that this soup is actually vegetarian and not made with the traditional beef base...I would not have known it, this was absolutely delicious. Such rich flavor. Cheese perfectly melted...we absolutely demolished this soup!

Being the carnivores we are, we all got steak.
I was actually shocked at how tasty and tender this steak was! It was perfectly cooked and honestly one of the best steaks I have had at Disney!!! The fries were awesome too!!!

We had absolutely NOOOO room for dessert but since our server knew that it was our oldest DD's birthday, she got the GREY STUFF!!!!!

It truly was delicious (the dishes are right)! I admit, I ate most of this, it was soooo good!

After our meal, we took our picture with the Beast, who was very cordial. :goodvibes. It was a really good character interaction, and I was so sad for our experience to be over. We had great service, great food and this place is on our must do list for the next trip for sure!!! :thumbsup2

Great Reviews!! Very interesting as well regarding your experiences. We have had both good and not so good experiences with CG so I understand your not so good experience. We kinda stuck to just breakfast there over the years because that's pretty consistent. But, dinner can be ..fickle...;)

Via is one of our absolute favorites as well, glad you had a good experience. Also nice to hear BOG was good as well...was a little disturbed after reading a review on the boards here about a poster and her party being "rushed" through their meal there, so glad to see it's not the "norm".;) Also glad to hear YSH was good, hearing better things these days, may have to go back and try it again.;)

Great reviews... We ate at captains grille for thanksgiving and it was just okay. It really isn't on my list for a return visit. I love your review of BOG. I'm nervous about the menu but your pictures look awesome.

So, after some delays we arrived at the Yacht Club pretty late. We were supposed to get in around 9:30 pm but ended up not getting to YC until about 11:30 pm!

Thank God we had eaten those cheeseburgers or we would have been starving.

So we arrived to find out that we had been chosen as YC Family of the Day!!!:cheer2:

That was pretty exciting! When we got to our room, there was a little treat waiting for us! It was this little number...

I personally did not eat any, but our girls quickly started carving white chocolate Minnie up with a knife...:scared:

They quite enjoyed her and the strawberries!

But it was time to go to bed, because we had some Disney dining ahead of us!!

I have never heard of this! What a neat surprise and a nice way to improve your day, since you had been traveling for a bit and had to deal with delays. The strawberries look delish!:lovestruc

We didn't get to eat at Beaches and Cream....sad!! Only got to look in the windows!!

More please Candace!!popcorn::
