I loved staying at the THV, and would definitely do it again. Loved the seclusion, and room for kids to play.
Three things to be aware of, IMO:

While I have never before needed to buy bug spray (like you spray on your skin) while at Disney, I did on this trip. Not unexpected at all, considering the setting.

Both toilet seats were the most uncomfortable I've ever sat on, anywhere.

There's not much room for dry food storage in the kitchen.

I love the THV, but found the master bedroom beds small and uncomfortable

It would have been nice if they had managed a room size for a king bed. ::yes:: And extra long bunk beds so they could be used by most adults also.

We found it hard to use the space with our family as the third room with the bunk beds had beds that were too small for teenagers so they ended up in the lounge. Be better for a family with really small kids

I don't know if they switched the beds out, but we had two average sized 24 year olds (sons) in the bunk beds, and they didn't have a problem at all (or at least, not that they mentioned).

We were there April 2015 and none of the eight of us had to use bug spray. We had brought it thinking we would need it.

We had an OK sty there. It was good to experience one time. I just found it more cramped and dark than the other resorts. I think it is the layout of the main living area that got to me. The master bath was beautiful but wasn't a fan of a partially smoked window in the shower!

The master bedroom is dark. But still bright compared to AKV. I really like them. I've had a couple maintenace problems in them, but they've been take care of. Last time they had to replace the dishwasher and the batteries in the safe.

The AKV refurb looks like they will be using lighter colors.

I'll throw in my .02 on this thread as we had enough points to book a trip here on our 15th Wedding Anniversary 2 years ago. It was definitely one of those "Cool to experience once" types of experiences for our family of 6. At that time our 4 kids were under 12 so things like the bunkbeds worked out for us, but I could definitely see where they might get cramped for taller teenagers and/or adults. Our one quirk with the resort was the busing. To get to a park you have to catch a bus from THV to the main SSR bus stop and then catch your bus from there. However on a busy morning as this is the last stop in the resort you may end up waiting a few busses to find one you can get in. Then the worst part was after a LONG day at the park you ride your bus back to SSR, around the resort to their main stop again and debark the bus. BUT now you have to wait for the THV bus to roll around and at 12-1a waiting on 1 bus THV bus can take forever... So what we learned to do was drive our car over to SSR to the 1st bus stop inside SSR. Catch that bus, and then when we returned from the park we just got off and back into our car at SSR and we were home WAY faster than the original method. It was just unfortunate it took us until the end of trip to figure out this method. Other than transportation we had a really great time at THV.
