I am now at the 60 day mark where I can book our excusions. DH & I want to do the Dolphon Encounter, but we want to do the one scheduled for later in the day. The excusion desk just told me they only have one time, 9:15 AM. I asked if the afternoon one was just recently done away with. The reply I got was as far as I can remember, there has never been an afternoon encounter. I know I have seen it on the Navigators posted that there is one that leaves at 12:45 PM. Am I going nuts?

Thanks!

I saw your post and thought I would tell you about what we are doing. I found out about this place from another thread. The below link will take you to a dolphinwatch place. I have signed up for it in Key WEst. They were on the Animal planet. I called and they are doing it for just the three of us and at the time I requested. Good Luck

I just called inquiring about availability on our cruise Oct. 20th on the Wonder and I was asked which one I was looking for the 8:30, 9:30 or 11 o'clock. I believe those were the times. Maybe your cruise is all booked up for the later time. You could always try the Freeport one if you are going there.

I know in the past I also saw 2 times but I just got back yesterday from the Wonder and there was only one time. 9:15. And the 1st time you can get the ferry back is 2:00 and be back at 245. But let me tell you it is well worth it. We loved it. It was so fun. the viedo that they sell you is 48.00 US and 58.00 Canada. It is the the whole encouter and even a little bit of Naussa around town.. If you have any ?'s let me know.

Does the 9:15 mean the time you leave the ship or the time the encounter starts? This is our very first cruise of any sort and we wanted to take it nice and easy, not having to rush out to do things. We like to start late in the mornings. If we do the encounter, how early do we need to start our day?

You have to be ready to leave the ship by 9:15. Leave the ship at about 9:30 and take a 5 minute walk to the ferry. A 45 minute Ferry ride and then a short walk to the encounter. You have enough time to eat lunch and then take the Ferry back at 2 pm. or the next time the ferry leaves is 4pm. I would say if you want to do any shopping in Naussa you should try to get the 2 pm ferry.

I was in Nassau with the Wonder on August 19. I went on the 1:30 Dolphin Swim but tagged along with the others on the ship who went on the 1:30 Dolphin Encounter (both are at the same place at the same time). The meeting time for the Encounter excursion in one of the Route 66 lounges on the ship was 12:45. Hope this helps.

That's helps me a lot. There is a later Dolphin Encounter. I think I need to make a few more phone calls. Glad to see I'm not going as crazy as I think I am.

Did any of the participants happen to mention that when they signed up for the Encounter, they didn't have to specify which time they wanted?

Thanks!
