Receiving Your Member ID

I recently posted another thread asking about acquiring a membership ID on site (we bought resale and I didn't think we'd get our IDs in the mail in time) so that we could get the Annual Pass discount.

In a new twist, we received our "Vacation Planner" book a week after closing had been finalized (on last Friday) and I also received an email about activating my dvcmember.com account (on last Thursday). However, we still have not received Member ID cards in the mail? Should they have come with the Vacation Planner book? Might they still come in the next couple of days (I'm essentially asking for others' experience as to the timing of receiving the Vacation Planner book versus the Member ID cards). We leave for WDW on Wednesday morning, and I'd rather not make the trip to SSR to get the ID cards.

The Member ID cards are processed by a outside vendor and they do them in batches. If it doesn't come before your vacation, you have no choice but to pick up a copy at the Preview Center.

Take the boat from the SSR dock to DTD where you can get your AP at Guest Relations and also have dinner. Then you can take a bus from DTD to any park or your resort.
 
It took a long time to get our cards. We also received our books right away. I also had a hard time getting the code to log into the web site. I ended up calling member services for the temporary password.

It took us about a month to receive our cards after we were in the system. We had to go to SSR to get cards since we had a trip before we received our cards. They now make permanent cards at SSR instead of the temporary cards they used to make. The good thing is now we have 2 sets of membership cards because we received our original cards soon after returning from our trip.
