We received a postcard offering $124 for a standard at Animal Kingdom Lodge "for most nights between 4/27- 7/3." Although there is a pin number above our address, the info section of the postcard advises to "be sure to ask for code AFK."

I made reservations using that code because I got a postcard also, but they will ask for the number code sequence highlighted in yellow above your name--so I don't think it's a code anyone can use.

Wow, what a great rate. Still waiting to receive a postcard. Maybe someday. I know you'll love the AKL.

When did you stay there? I'm wondering when to expect one from the WL.

I stayed there in April last year and again in July. The $124 was for a standard room. Savannah and pool views would have been higher.

I too got a postcard today for AKL for $124. I've never stayed there before so I don't think you can expect to get one for specific hotels.

I have received this postcard too. The code applies to ALL deluxe resorts. You just need to call to find out the discounted rates for the resort you are interested, based on this code.

The mailings are random, and there is no way to figure who gets them, it's just luck of the draw.

They are also nontransferable. The PIN number matches your name and address.

I didn't get the postcard but I got an email with the same code (AFK) also with a pin number. Too bad I am not going until the fall:(

I didn't get a postcard or email. Can you please give me the link to the website for the code?
Thanks

As long as the person on the postcard is going to be with you then you can use it. I just did for my stay. The card came in my mother's name but my address. I called, told the CM, and she added my mom's name to the ressie since she is staying in the same room. There is a pin and when I gave it to the CM she looked to make sure that it did match my mother's name.

We got the postcard this week and DH said why not go for a long weekend!! SO now I gotta pick a weekend! Yipeee! I love AKL!

I wonder how they found your names to send postcards to. Are you on some list or something? Also, what is that url with the code that someone mentioned???

They probably get the names from being past guests. We get one every year. Once it was in my husband's name, once in mine, and now one in my mother's. We have all been to WDW in the past. You cannot get this particular code at a website. It either had to be emailed to you or snail mailed. They come with PINS that you have to tell the CM in order to get the discount. Each PIN is assigned to a person's name so they cannot be shared.

All the postcards I've received since I married have been in my maiden name. This was never a problem-- just told them it was my maiden name and that was fine.

Keeping my fingers crossed we'll get one this year for AKL for Dec.!

Got POFQ last year for $79 night w/a postcard!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

loveswdw

Last year they sent out postcards with a code and pin, I already had an AP rate and called just to check and the CM let me have the code rate without the pin #, we saved an additional $30.00 per night. So I would call and ask, it can't hurt.

...that's an AWESOME rate!!! Got room in your luggage??

True what I meant was if you decided or your Mom decided not to use the card, you can not give it to a neighbor on the other side of town to use.

As to CM's booking the code without the pin for people who did not receive the postcard, that is extremely rare and the CM could lose their job over that so I am surprised they would risk it.

On MouseSavers.com there is a new listing fro FL residents, AKL $124

We have been going to DW for 20 years now and for the last 5-6 years we have been AP holders, and have never, never gotten a post card with any kinds of codes. I guess were just not that lucky.
