I just checked my home voicemail and I had a message from a woman named Natalie asking me to call her regarding my DVC BLT Account. She had our full names too. Has anyone else received a call like this. I'm certainly not calling back. The number was (407) 477-4642. Just found it odd that she knew so much information and wondering if anyone else has received a call like this?

I don't know what information she had but a lot is public record. I would not return the call.

I had a similar call about a year ago and called back. The person who answered told me that our guide had recently left DVC and we had been assigned a new guide. She said our new guide would like to say Hi to us and introduce herself and was that okay. I said sure and she transferred me. The new guide came on the line and gave me her name. She asked me if I was happy with my membership and ever thought about buying more points. I told her the number of points I have works well for my family. She then said to contact her if I was ever interested in buying more points at either our home resort or another resort. I said okay and hung up.

In my case, I believe it was a legit call and that the new guide was just reaching out.

She called back again and she's from a company called Better Business Lodging. They are looking for DVC Members who are interested in renting or selling their points.

Your deed is public record. From that they can get your name & home resort. If they can match the name(s) on the deed to a listed phone number, they have a way to reach you.

GOOD data - and the lesson? If one gets a call from DVC, live or recorded -
REPLY by calling the LISTED DVC Member Services Phone number. IGNORE any phone number in the messege. Tell them what happened. See if the "Fish Call" was legitimate, or a fake.

You can always Google the phone number they are calling from and can get information about them that way before you call back.

Every year with our dues statement we get a form that must be returned if you do not want DVC to share your account info. Have you returned the form?

I got a similar message saying our account rep. Doug was "busy" with other owners and that he or she wanted to talk to us about a sales incentive for Poly.

It was odd... I didn't call back.

And for any Disney employee lurkers: don't tell me my account rep. is too busy for me. You might as well tell me my account is worthless to you.
