Reassurance about Fidelity please! Final update page 8--we are in!

Okay, so now were into June... I finally got documents from the title company on Friday, May 27. I was able to review, sign, and notarize all of them in time to get them mailed out the same day.

So, we're back to waiting, although this delay probably has more to do with the Title company, and not Fidelity. This whole thing started with contracts signed back on March 29, well AFTER the 3/20 deadline. I was aware that it could take a month or two, but it will probably be close to 3 months before I have possession of the points.

Doug

The saga continues. Sellers only mailed back documents a week after I did. They should have received it two days ago, but no word from the title company.

So, now the problem has moved past Fidelity, so now I can ask... What's everyone's experience with Timeshare Title & More? The week's delay due to the sellers aside, are they always this slow?

:confused3 They moved fast for me. Maybe send an email directly to the closing agent at TTM and tell them point blank you want to close in two weeks and see what they say. I had her email address because she emailed me the closing papers to sign, i just used the same email address to email her back.

Well, my contract seems to have hit a standstill as well. Title company(First American title, I think) has received all of our closing documents, including our check--that was last week. They are waiting for the sellers' documents. Sellers are overseas, so I keep telling myself that is what is taking so long:rolleyes1. I wonder why it is a different title company if we are both using Fidelity? Good idea on the email....I sent one myself.

I had a great experience with First American Title. They closed me the day that they got both sets of documents. I think Fidelity is using them, because Timeshare Title and More were overwhelmed. I think you are lucky to have First American Title over Timeshare Title and More. The turnaround time seems to be much faster.

Thanks so much for posting this! :thumbsup2I did get an email back(at 5:05 am this morning! Poor girl was working EARLY!) and she was expecting closing docs from sellers today. I took my kids to Holiday World(Santa Claus, Indiana) today and the cell service there was not great, so I'm hoping the docs came through.

I just closed a contract with Fidelity using First American Title. My seller was also overseas so they told me that it could take a little longer. But everything went very smooth and pretty fast.
Two days after they received the documents from the seller, the closing was done and documents sent to Disney . Four more days , and my new contract was in the Disney DVC system with the points. It was a very positive experience.

This concerns me--we closed 5/27 and points are still not in our account. I'm getting worried because our names are slightly different on the contracts--my DH's name on this contract has III added to it and our names are in reverse order on the deed. Would this make ANY difference? Will Disney send us cards or something if this somehow has ended up under a different member ID number?Aggh!

So my DH just tells me when I'm going over this with him that he talked to Disney yesterday and they do have a record of the transaction but that it's still pending. That could have saved me some angst lol

appleorchard,
Glad that he talked to Disney(sometimes my communication w/my dh is like that:rotfl:)--what does it mean when they said it was pending? Did they tell him how long it would be before you were in the system?

They said it could be a few weeks and I'm still not sure he got it quite right--I'd swear he told me they said they had no record--think I'll be giving them a call tomorrow myself:rolleyes:

I'd call the Timeshare Store directly to be sure, but I do not think they co-broker with Fidelity. But other brokers do, including some often mentioned here and others who can't be mentioned.

The process is your broker represents you and Fidelity represents the seller. Your broker handles all the contacts with Fidelity, which is helpful. Once everything is agreed and the contract passes ROFR, it goes to a separate closing company for closing.

And yes, the two brokers split the commission...which is paid by the SELLER incidentally.

The Timeshare Store does not co-broker; I am in the process of buying resale, and I asked today if they would co-broker a Fidelity contract and was told that they don't do that.

Marie, how did you find out you were in the system? I don't know where to look if the points aren't listed on DVC.com under my old membership number.

OK, two different membership numbers and cards altogether. Somehow I was not getting that--I know 2 different numbers means two different numbers but somehow thought the membership number would be the same and they would just have different contract numbers, like out current contracts. Disney has not received our contracts. Contacted Fidelity and Sharon said she would let us know when she heard something. I hope that means she's checking into it! Disney said they should have it by now. Of course I'm waiting to make changes to our April reservation and need these points to do it. Aggh! And things had been going so well with Fidelity up to this point...

Since I bought another BWV with the same UY as the two other ones I already own, they just add a new contract number under the same membership. That is why I could see it on the DVC member site.

In fact, it is a two part process: First, Disney add the contract number under the existing one, and then , 24-48 hrs after, they add the points that were included in the sale.

I wish we could have found the same UY--definitely would have been easier. But in the time we've been looking, this has still been the only small BWV contract we've seen! Disney never got the contract--the title company (First American) supposedly re-sent it yesterday with a "please expedite" note. hopefully this is just a small hiccup!

Just finished a resale with Fidelity. I found communication with the broker hit and miss. However, with a little patience, I was satisfied with the process. Closed on Friday the 10th and points were in the system on the 14th.

I have been happy with Fidelity so far. Offer was accepted 5/23, passed ROFR 6/6 and I received the closing docs yesterday 6/14. I knew the process was going to take a while but so far it seems faster than I expected. Our closing is going through First American so maybe that is helping.

We're in the system! But now I have another problem--how can I see both memberships on the Disney site? Every time I sign in, it defaults to our original account and I don't see any way to add the new member ship number. Even if I try to log into the site "fresh", it "recognizes" me. Please don't tell me I have to delete all my cookies and saved passwords! I don't remember half my passwords anymore lol.

I'm happy for you that you're finally in the system! Did First American call you and tell you or DVC? I wish I could help you on the technical problems but if no one here can help you maybe there's a way you can call dvc and have them put both membership #'s on your account so you can have one log in? That's probably wishful thinking, but it would be nice.....
