Just looked at my Disney experience account and it’s giving me an option to reassign one of my passes?
I was about to buy a ticket for my boyfriend for the weekend. Does this mean he would be able to use one of my other passes (my son who is not going with us this time)???
If that’s the case will I be able to reassign it back to my son??
That seems pretty crazy!
Also he does not have florida ID and it’s a residence pass....trying to get some sort of documentation.

Does anyone know anything about this? I’ve never seen it before.

Yes you can reassign any unused ticket, book FPs, and when the new ticket is linked to your BF, reassign the ticket back to your son.

Omg really??? I thought all passes were not transferable????

What about the fact that he doesn’t have FL ID yet?

It doesn’t matter. The ticket can be reassigned...it’s not like he’s going to use it to enter the park. You’re just moving it to him for FP booking and then you’ll reassign it once you link his actual ticket.

I'm not sure if that's what she's asking.

The way I read it, she's asking if the boyfriend can use some of the days on the ticket. The answer to that is no.

Oh. That was what I was asking. So the point of the reassignment is just to book a FP? It’s not under the FastPass section. It’s under my tickets.

You cannot reassign a ticket that someone has already used to enter the park. You can only reassign a ticket in MDE that has not be used yet. If you purchase a FL resident ticket the adult using the ticket will need to prove FL residency.

As above, it sounds like the OP is asking if the ticket can be reassigned to her BF to use a couple of days this weekend and then back to her son for him to use at a different time... i.e partial sharing of days on the same ticket between 2 people. If that is accurate then the answer is obviously no.

Interestingly, I found myself in a similar situation this week whereby our next planned trip is looking to be in August 2018, we went to purchase AP's again (Florida Resident) and we saw a 7 day ticket in there linked to our account from a family member who was unable to go with us last trip during the summer of 2017. We called Disney as it had the 'reassign' option under the ticket and the information they gave us is that if the reassign option is showing then it can be reassigned and linked to someone else. So we are simply going to use this as one of our passes as we will reassign it to one of us. Once reassigned and used though, it will be ours and if we use 2 out of the 7 days then it cannot be transferred or reassigned according to Disney.

So if you can clarify the above I think you will find your answer. As for Florida residency? There is a list of official documents they will take, I know in the past having had my backpack stolen with my wallet and all documents in it I printed off one of my bank statements with our Florida address on and they was good enough along with my passport.

No. The point of reassigning is to give a pass to another person. There are two reasons this won't work for your situation: a Florida resident pass can only be used by a Florida resident (with ID,) and once a pass has been used by someone, it can never be transferred to anyone else.

It is giving me the option to reassign. Hadn’t completed it because I wasn’t sure but it is allowing me to and my son has already used his pass. Strange.

We bought an ages 3-9 9-day ticket for my daughter back before we decided to get annual passes for all of us. Now, every time we buy annual passes again, it tries to assign that 9-day ticket to her. In order to stop Disney from automatically doing this, we just assigned it to my 30 year old brother who will not be going to Disney for some time. He will never be able to use it, and we will either move it back to one of my children before they turn 10, or sell it to Undercover Tourist, when we feel it will most benefit us.

That is interesting, is your son wanting to use it again after your BF? if not then I would try to reassign it and see what happens. Worst that happens is that it doesn't work and you are back to square one!

You can't return a ticket once it's been assigned to an MDE account.

Is there a reason why you didn't apply the value of the ticket toward the cost of her AP?

I've been able to bounce it around no problem, as long as it hasn't been used.
Haven't applied it because I bought it before the 1-year expiration went into effect, so it's value is higher than its current monetary value. Bought for like $400 and it is already worth closer to $500, and it does not expire until 2030.

I'm wondering if this is a glitch in MDE. I have a partially used 10-day non expiring park hopper and just this week, the option to reassign this pass popped up. No way am I going to test it to see if I can move it around though. That thing is way too valuable to lose!

I would think so...I logged on to see what my Family and Friends ticket list looks like - DS and DH have AP's that expire in May (both have been used several times at this point) and both show the "Reassign Ticket" link. Clearly AP's wouldn't be reassign-able, so this looks wonky. I didn't click any further since I don't want to mess anything up and spend time at guest relations straightening things out.

Yep me too and I know for a fact that reassign link was never there before on them.

If you have a Florida resident ticket they will require you to show proof of residency before you can use the ticket.

I’ve had a second home in Florida for over 30 years and have been in their system for just as long and still have to show proof before they will allow me to use my ticket.
