Really Annoying Weight Loss Commercial

Really, what is the product for? I am scared to find out. If they can't tell you I am thinking it isn't something I really want to know.

I believe it's for headaches, at least I think it is.

I hate that commercial, too. In fact I would love to shove my size 10 fist down her size 2 throat! ARGH!

The one I really hate is the Beep Beep Ford Commercial. I would love to "beep beep" her in her big happy face. Can you tell I have some anger issues with that commercial??

I think that it depends on your height and bone structure. I've also heard that sizes have gotten bigger over the years.

Personally I would be happy with an 8. That's what I wore many years ago...

I also hate the commercial where the lady who wants to wear the itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini is hiding behind an air mattress because she's too embarassed to come out. She moves the matress and she's bony thin. They could have at least gotten someone normal.

I remember the days when most women in swimsuits on tv were slender, but curvy. Now apparently even bony women are too fat for the beach unless they eat yogurt.

In the meantime, I just tell myself, "Look how gorgeous Marilyn Monroe was- and she was a size 12, like me!" (And I repeat it like a mantra- so if she wasn't really a size 12, don't tell me!!) Why can't our stars weigh more than 15 pounds anymore?!?!

I recently read "size 12 isn't fat" by Meg Cabot. I picked it up becasue I liked the title and I enjoyed other books by the author. It is cute, not her best work but cute and a fun read. She makes a point to mention that size 12 is the average size for a women in America.

So not only do they not say exactly what it's for, you also can't even buy it? That makes sense!

Oh, this thread reminds me, I also hate that Relacore commercial. Maybe I like my stubborn belly fat.

I was at a Gap outlet not too long ago and could find one pair of 12s among the 0s, 2s, and 4s. They are at the outlet because people weren't buying them, duh! And there's no size 12s because that what people DO buy!!

Eddie Bauer, though, needs to work on their vanity sizes. My sister and I both bought a pair of pants that was one size up from normal for both of us. We definitely both didn't go up in size! Silly store, always size downward, not upward!

My first thought when I see that commercial is that she needs some color! Man is she pale!!!

My friend is on a fraud task force for the FDA and he sends me stuff all the time about the FDA suing these weight loss/male enhancement/whatever companies.

I suppose IF I lost 33 pounds I MIGHT fit in a size 2. Depending on what store the 2 was from. I wore a 2 in high school, but that was a LOOOONG time ago!

My boss is very tiny and she wears 0, 2, or 4 depending on the brand.

I wear an 8 or 10 in bottoms no matter what. What I think is bizarre is shirts. I am pretty proportionate, and I routinely wear either L or XL shirts. I don't understand that! I don't have a gigantic chest, so it's not like I need extra room for that. So if a person who wears a 10 is an XL in shirts what are the rest of the girls who are larger than 10 supposed to do? That just makes NO sense to me!

Ralph Lauren makes those "slim fit" polos for women, but the Large ones are too tight on me and they don't even make XL! I have several Claiborne polos and they are all XL. The golf ones run larger so those are just L, but the golf ones are also a lot more expensive!

Maybe I DO want to lose 33 pounds after all!

Well, I'm a size 12 jeans that wears a 1X top! And I don't have much chest either!! I don't like the current trend of fitted tops. If you have even an ounce of body fat, a single small roll, you look horrible. I don't care to accentuate the not so positive. So I'm buying shirts 3 sizes big in order to just skim my body instead of fitting it like a glove and showing all the love handles to the world.

Who decided that women over 35 should wear the same styles as 98# 15 year old girls? Why can't there be a happy medium between high school and nursing home fashions? Shirts that aren't clingy knits, pants that don't show my butt crack, shorts and skirts I can bend over in without fear and underpants and bras that shape and enhance rather than stick it out to jiggle everywhere or strap it in like a steel trap!!!

Must be! Yesterday, DD and I were in Kohl's and she was looking for dress pants. We had to paw through oodles of 0's, 1's and 3's. Barely found any 7's or 9's, which is her size.

She said "I must really be fat Mom."

I go through the same thing with my 16 yr. old dd. She's a size 7 and she's convinced she's fat! Of course all of the size 7's are always picked over and there are tons of 0-2 because you wear a very normal size that alot of others wear.

That's what I love about the commercials for Weight Watchers and Curves. They show real women at different stages of the weight loss process. Not everyone was meant to be a size 2!

I think it's cool. They've identified a niche market - people sizes 8/10 who would love to be 2/4/6 - and they're pursuing it. I fall into that category, and I totally relate.

I do, too, but at 6'0" tall, I don't think I could be a size 2 or 4 even if you tried to dress my skeleton. I've got some large German bones.
