Yes, I have this pin. From what I understand, it was only available for a very short time.

Yes, I have 2 of the real VMK pins too. I bought them from ebay, and got a real good deal. Tehy are worth a lot more now. I believe they were only given out for a period of 1 week between christmas and new years. It was given as a substitue for the VMK Insider Tour given at the parks.

I love that one that looks just like the Pirate Insider Tour pin. That would be awesome to have a real version of that pin. Unfortunately, I bet they're going for a pretty penny.

I don't know any reason why they would cost any more than any other disney pins which I think are all reasonably priced starting as low as $6.95 on up. :)

Edit: Oh my gosh I just noticed that Donald Pin, wearing a bird hat, just like another duck we all know and love, lol!

found this on another site...
I just got back from the public day of the pin event. I took this pic of the pins. I asked about them and here is what I was told.

It is a mystery pin box.

2 pins and 2 cards per box.

$14.95/box

they will go on sale Dec 06

They will be non-returnable, so there is no need to worry about getting a box that was returned with a used code.

Thanks for the info! Did you have a blast at the event? I was just drooling over the photos of all the auction lots. That Narnia set was amazing!!

Wait... so does that mean you wont know which pins you're getting? I was about to ask somebody if they'd get me all 5 sets if I sent them the money, but I'm not going to risk it if what you get is a mystery :sad2:

ROFL that's my post, from here on the vmk DIS board just a different thread.

yes I was there yesterday and asked a dozen questions about the pins. I wasn't told what the cards codes would be.

Yes, that means you will not know what you are getting. It is a mystery box of 2 pins and 2 codes. So you could buy 5 boxes and get all 10 pins or you could by 100 boxes and get the same 2 pins in each box. Looks like we'll have to start a pin trading thread, or visit the DIS trade board, lol.

Got in all in one thread again. :thumbsup2 Wow Tink, you sure have been quoted alot!

I know many of us appreciate the info on these pins. :teeth:

I am really mad because I was *at* WDW that week, and I tried to redeem a 30/30 Insider Tour card for a tour, and they told me there were no more tours and they didn't give me this pin!!

Grr!

Anyone care to make and educated guess on what the prizes will be based on what the pin looks like? I don't mean to start rumors, just guessing what the prizes may be.

Mickey at the helm. That's what's on the box

Someone had mentioned that it would be the prizes from the pld pirates quest which could make sense considering each pin seems to show an item from the quest. There are a few I can't quite figure out so maybe there is new items that will be introduced also.

From what I have heard the prizes will be the same as the ones from the old pirate quest. Since there are 10 pins I'm not sure what some of them will be.
Here's my GUESS:

VMK pin - pin similar to the insider tour pin
Mickey at the Helm - ??
Pluto - Treasure Rug
Donald - Seagull hat
Minnie - Couch
Goofy - stool
Stitch - flaming window
Mickey with treasure - ?? (Treasure Detector Magic??)
Chip - ??
Dale - ??

The only other prize from the quest is the room which doesn't really match any of the pins, so I'm not sure if that would be one of the card prizes.
