I volunteered to get a car, go to Publix on Saturday, do shopping. I see now that others are also talking about going to Publix. Can we go over the menu again, and who's doing what? What about a time for the barbecue? I have a 1PM pick up time for the car.

How about costs? Meat costs lots more than watermelon!

Bobbi, I know Alison & Fran are bringing tri...something or other meat with them...I forgot what its called I'm making potato salad & buying tomatoes We can go shopping together if you like..we have plenty of time, no worries

Potato Salad – Luvchefmic
Tri Tip on the BBQ – Alison & Fran
Portabello Mushrooms with Goat Cheese and Pesto – PIO
Fried Rice with Shrimp – PIO
Brownies & Rice Krispie Treats – TifffanyD​

BTW - we got our tri tip on a pretty good sale, each one cost less than $10, and we are bringing two.

Thanks for posting the menu again. Nancy & I would be including other fruit with our offering. Publix does have Pre cut fruit chunks...or is a " summer salad" mainly fruit. Are nuts taboo for anyone? Is everyone responsible for their own drinks?

PIO - I got you on the kecap manis. That's not something anyone will find easily in Florida.

Summer salad is cucumbers, tomatoes and red onion in a vinaigrette dressing. I am actually making that for a picnic tonight.

In our heritage, (Polish) a cucumber salad would be made with dill, vinegar and sour cream. We had a wonderful bumper crop of cucumbers in our small home garden, and had many fine salads this summer!
