Real Life game/fun: Calling for a DisBoard Gamers DisMeet....first week Oct 2013

Wait arent you the one who gets sea sick?

I forgot about that. OK never mind. Unless anyone else is interested I guess Fran and I will put this in our solo to do list. I was just thinking it would be fun with a group and this will most likely be the largest group we travel to WDW with ever. But never mind I'll just put it back on the bucket list for when she is up to it. Either that or the Alison list for later.

SEA sick....yes. On a lake? Never.

I'd be interested in a Wishes pontoon. I figure this might be the only time I get to see Wishes without looking down the camera barrel.

We might not get to go beyond 5 days. I know it seems short, but running our business no one works it but chris. So no work no pay. I saw your response on the other thread. Is he in shock? Or just the dates not working? We are pretty much flexible except for june. I know you have your DS to think about with school. So just let me know. To bad its not this year the venue for the sweet thingy with the chef is the man from Pebble Beach lodge. Then its Cake boss man and the other is Gale Gan. Hope your finger is ok.

October 2013 is fine and I already checked the school holiday dates. :thumbsup2

The camera? Pretty much fused to my eye.

As far as length of time. If i do stay at BCV in a 1 bedroom, which is what I prefer for ths, it will be a 5 nighter there for the exchange and most likely be Sunday to Friday. I will probably ask the Floridian branch of the family to come for either of the weekends, it depends when DDiL works, so I will be there longer, but with family.

I hope they don't raise the point values for BCV October stays!

Have a great day everyone, we are helping friends move today. So I will try to check in later.

Is it good weather for a move?

I think when we have the meet we will plan a few things together, but make other things "open." I have limited mobility, and who knows, maybe by the time of the meet, I will be renting a scooter, but for now and the future as I hope, I rather just stay out for a bit, even with the idea of meeting at the next ride/attraction that people are going to, rather than walking to all of them.

PIO, I understand that the Captain's Grill at the YC has a breakfast buffet or al la carte offerings. I understand some of items on the breakfast buffet are the same as at the Cape May Buffet, but without characters it's less expensive and just as good. Haven't eaten there for breakfast, and woudn't be a good use of a table service, but out of pocket may be OK.

I'm interested in the Wishes cruise, as long as it's not a "romantic couples" thing :lmao: Unless I'm there with someone :rolleyes1

So.....how long is everyone thinking of staying for?

I want to stay for at least a week :lmao: I have every intention of going to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach this time around, so if anyone wants to join me, feel free :)

I also do want to go to Raglan Road at Downtown Disney again, since I loved it so much last time. Would anyone want to join me? :cutie:

The weather was great for a move. It only took a little over three hours. I and my DH are easy going.

I figure that we will be staying for about 10 nights total, whether or not they are all at BCV, I'm not sure yet. If we fly to Florida, I want to stay at least a week. Five nights last May was much too quick. Of course we did spend two full days in a seminar. :rolleyes1

I hope they don't raise the point values for BCV October stays!

Me too!

We have limited mobility too. In fact we own our own scooters and have been bringing them for at least four years. I like the idea of planning a few things like the potluck dinner, the Wishes cruise, and then some of us can make some ADRs, or plan on snacking around the World in smaller groups, or even play it by ear.

Considering about half the people are traveling solo, I doubt there will be anything romantic about the cruise! :lmao: I think Stormalong Bay will be as close as we get to a water park. We would probably join you at Raglan Road. We have been wanting to go there for a while and are finally going to fit it in on our trip next May.

Please explain! Don't know which thread explains PIOs shock!

DH was a little shocked that the plans moved from tentative to firm in a matter of weeks. Plus, he tends to forget important stuff like this...:rotfl:...so it had completely seemed like a bolt out of the blue when I mentioned it again.

I've been told by some of the other Aussies that the Captain's Grill is a hidden gem. Might have to check it out in 2013.

I was actually doing mental arithmatic in my head and assuming that by the time we go, the DDP might actually be closer to $50 per person per day. That's $150 worth of food per day.
If we get a 1 bedroom and can make our own porridge and toast for most mornings, and plus all the snacking we're likely to do at Epcot, it's probably going to be borderline as to which is better....

Romantic? Wishes? With DS?? :sad2:

And Yes and Yes. I think we're probably going to be hitting the parks early in the morning, back to SAB in the afternoon and maybe back to the parks again later in the day.....and being really selective with what we do at the parks in the morning.

I think DS will literally kill me if I take him to the World again and NOT go to a water park.

Raglan Road will probably be on my wish list this time round.

Who else is traveling solo? :lmao: I really think you guys will like Raglan Road. You have to try the Dunbrody Kiss :teeth:

:lmao:

I just know how I am and I don't like leaving the parks :lmao: I think that's the reason I'm hesitant about staying at a deluxe. But, math wise, I think it'd be similar to the cost of a room at Pop with renting DVC point :confused3

Which water park would you guys prefer to go to? I'd rather do Typhoon Lagoon, but I don't remember which one closes for refurbs in the fall and which one closes in the spring.

We're go going to wind up having a huge table at Raglan Road :lmao:
