I am about to get my t-shirts ready to go. I have a couple of questions:

1. If all of my t-shirts are white, do I need to use light or dark transfer paper?

2. Which brand(s) are the best?

3. Where buy paper? I know I had read a couple of months ago of a DISigner who tested many brands and had recommendations. I think she also sells it. For the life of me, I cannot find the thread.

Thanks in advance for any help!

If all of your shirts are white you only need the light transfer paper (remember to reverse your design before printing). However many people think the color is more vibrant on the dark transfers so use those for both light and dark (no need to revers the image with dark transfers).

I use dark transfers professionally (but not for shirts, for jewelry) and have found printworks works the best for my needs there (and has done well for me with shirts). However due to the raves of Amy's transfers I bought some of hers (dark) to try as well. Those just arrived Tuesday and I printed up some tests (not for shirts though) and I do see a difference in the color between Amy's and the printworks. Amy's were a bit richer and didn't absorb the color as much leading to a more vibrant image overall, I lost a bit of detail in black on black shadows but I am still working with the item so really wont know the overall outcome until that's finished and I have a prof photographer (my client) compare it against her original. Amy's though have a really nice tone and texture so I can't wait to do a few shirts as well.

As noted above it's Amy, her site is amymickey.com

Thanks for the reminding me about Amy. I ordered my transfers last week and they were here within three days. Wish me luck on the shirts. I will be sure to post them when they are done so the DISigners can see their hard work paid off! Thanks!
