And this will always be a FASTPASS....

Yes, it is still morning....I've been lazing around (Reading, as it so happens!)and figured I'd better check in. Pooh, you are not lazy. Personally, I think that Sher's got it figured out. I believe she's cutting and pasting, and adding as she finds missing people, so she's gettin us covered pretty well (and pretty early for a Saturday, too!!). And a VERY commendable effort by Amy this morning as well. (Actually, just checked...and, Amy, you win!)

Thanks guys!

I have nothing funny to add...except, maybe, TTRS!

Have a great day, all.

A friend of mine started a discussion about happiness recently. It made me think alot this morning.....

This past week has been emotional and dramatic on a number of fronts here in Norway. Even though this is not my real life, it is now a part of my life and it affects my day. It influences me. Strange, huh? Perhaps, but maybe not. I want to say I am so glad that this little corner of our world is back and I again know where I can find some of my favorite souls.

During this maelstrom we sailed into and eventually, through, I did alot of thinking. Why was I so upset at some ugly words I read? Why did Mel's possible departure make me so sad? Why did the sinking cause me to frantically search for a new home for this crew?

It came to me simply this morning. I was listening to Paul McCartney's new album, Chaos and Creation in the Backyard. Here is a song I listened to a lot this whole past week.

Laugh, when your eyes are burning
Smile, when your heart is filled with pain

Sigh, as you brush away your sorrow
Make a vow, that's it's not going to happen again

It's not right, in one life
Too much rain

You, know the wheels keep turning
Why, do the tears run down your face

We, use to hide away our feelings
But for now, tell yourself it won't happen again

It's not right, in one life
Too much rain
It's too much for anyone, Too hard for anyone
Who wants a happy and peaceful life
You've gotta learn to laugh

[Guitar solo]

Smile, when your spinning round and round
Sigh, as you think about tomorrow
Make a vow, that your gonna be happy again

It's all right, in your life
No more rain

It's too much for anyone, Too hard for anyone
Who wants a happy and peaceful life
You've gotta learn to laugh

I wish I could put the melody here along with these lyrics. It is such a beautiful song. It is also raining here where I live, again and this metaphor by Mr. McCartney summed up perfectly what was going on for me.

Happiness. You guys make me laugh and smile and think. Is anyone ever eternally happy? My friend posed that question. They related that they define happiness and sadness by moments in their life....rather than feeling these things continually or characterizing themselves as having one particular emotion. I had never looked at this that way. It actually made alot of sense.

Life is a series of events. They are not going to all make you happy. But I want as many of the moments in my life to be as joyous as possible. How you look at things, really can affect the outcome of your feelings. It is in one's control to put the challenges in perspective, laugh and move on. I think alot of people do that very well here. So I am feeling great that we are once again afloat and all those wonderful tidbits that people here so graciously share keep pouring in..... :sunny:

Laughter, guys.......................it is such a fastpass! Thanks to all of you for giving me that. I mean that with all sincerity. Have a great day! :yay:

First of all, Sheridac: enough with the telepathic messages. I live on the left coast and don't need to be awakened at 4:00 in the AM simply b/c you are already on your second cup of coffee.

Unless of course that was just my dog doing the middle-of-the-night walk around. What's up with that?

Where's my good friend, LaLa? I've gained three pounds this week b/c I haven't read any of her puke-inducing tales. Oh well. I'll have to go read another trip report. You know the one. Just the title makes me wanna hurl. More.

Javamom: ridding around with the windows down, blaring the Boss?! You're not Javamom, you're super cool, stuck in the '80s mom!

You realize of course that Mission Space is in fact "a deathtrap, a suicide rap."

Momofmnm: how jazzed are you that school is out? Your trip is that much closer now. Your excitement about your vacation is infectious.

Speaking of infectious, but in an entirely different context, HG how's your son? Mel, how's the General?

Since Mark is the preacher in his church, and since Mark and fam are headed to Disney World right after church tomorrow, how many of you think Mark's sermon will be remarkably short?! I imagine it will be something along the lines of this:

Bro. Mark: Today I'd like to speak you from the Gospel of John. "Jesus wept." Let us pray.

Maelstrom to you my friend. Hope you and Rhonda and Prince Wesley have a great time. But for crying out loud, take your kid to McDonald's already. I don't wanna half to call the cops on you. Again.

TTRS! Now and Forever! :moped:

Ok... the weather here is beautiful and hot!!!!

I'm heading out to spend the day in the sun planting a flower garden and a vegetable one, too. Nothing sounds better than that right now! Gotta say!

I will do my creepy dee story... uhhhmmmm... SOMETIME this weekend. I'm sure I'll have a chance. We are... however... having a little get-together here at the happyhaunt household tonight, though. Busy day ahead.

I know, I know... 1 tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila... FLOOR. I'll be good(ish). I think. You all be good(ish) too.

I'm glad the collective is back. Gotta say.

Here's my song for the day. And message too:

"And then...
I went sky diving
I went Rocky Mountain climbing
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fumanchu

And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter
And I gave forgiveness I'd been denying
And he said someday I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dying

Like tomorrow was a gift and you get eternity to think about
What'd you do with it? What did you do with it?
What did I do with it?
What would I do with it?"

Have a great day!!! Appreciate the sun... or the rain. Play. Get all crazy. Eat a ham and cheese. Maybe.

Just don't do ZZUBie's victory dance. Unless you need to scare the neighbours...

Cheers, Mel.

okay, so we all posted within 4 minutes of one another, Haunite and Zoob. Are your ears burning? I was thinking about you and Melly, love the song! I just posted one too. :teeth:

someone did not notice me again. for the love of being invisible i am going to form a complex.

edited to add: NO KIDDING HAUNTIE! MASSIVE MIND MELD AT THE EXACT SAME MOMENT if you typed faster...... :smooth: geesh girl. We think alot alike and look alike? Crap, did I give birth to you? :rotfl2:

edited again to add. mel clean out your box.....

Good Morning and Happy long weekend to everyone.

Marky Mark and Rhonda have fun in WDW, is your little guy feeling better? I hope so, if not I am sure a Princess or two will help.

NicoleMarie you have fun too. We almost never get time away from our kids. Sounds like fun.

Now for a shout out (this is like a brain workout)

Rhonda, Jami, Pongogirl, Pooh, Nicole Marie, LaLa, Frickles, Sher, Tink, Em'sMom, Jave, Ashclan, PMM, Kim, SDY- who is now part of the crew, YAK, ODG, ST, 2IAB, MSG, H2O, Grammy, DMM- even though I am not sure when I last saw you, maybe we do need a search party or something, Mel, Horsey, GeorgiaCat, Ed, Joe, Pooh2, Maxbon, Lou, MasterG, Mark, Knit, hooP, Chappie, ZZUB, and Mush even though he is too busy to play. Riddlers one and all, FirstMickey, and the rest of you.

And hello to everyone else who has jumped aboard. I plan to purchase a book this weekend because of this thread. I never read the Ya Ya book (and never saw the movie) but someone said it was a cry and laugh at the same time book. That hooked me.

Also I agree about the Joy Luck Club (the book not the movie, movie was ok but the book was fantastic). I read it when it first came out many moons ago and still think about the part with the ice cream...

Hey People.

Marky Mark, I am so excited for you. And Rhonda and Wesley. So will there be yet another Whirlwind Trippers report going up? Must be nice to have a trip report interrupted by another trip to Disney. Wait. Now I think I'm not so excited for you anymore. That's it. You're on Ignore, Buddy.

PMM, Delsym. Orange box. Cough suppressant. OTC. Try it. Our ped recommends it highly. You may actually get some sleep.

Horsey, hope Sky's feeling better today. :sunny:

And for the love of all that is good in the world.......People, stop licking the keyboard. Cause strep is not a fastpass.

Okay, so here's what I learned from spending the last two nights at the ballfields.....

1. My baby made AllStars for the first time.
2. We are apparently bad parents.

Yes, we're bad parents. Because all this time, we have been showing mere praise and adulation when our son does good in baseball. Now apparently that's not enough. Which brings me to the third thing I learned after spending the last two nights at the ballfields...

3. The going rate for a home run is twenty five bucks.
4. In some circles, the going rate for a hit that makes it over the fence is a hundred bucks.

Did you know that? Cause I sure didn't. And, depending on the parents, and the team that we happen to be playing, occasionally a base run is actually billable as well.

Don't get me wrong. If he brings home all As on his report card, we will give him five or ten bucks or something but I guess I just never thought of paying him for his hits at baseball. I always assumed that heaping praise on him was enough. But apprently the new rule of thumb in the 7 to 8 year old pitching machine crowd is...

Show Me The Money.

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

ZZUB! Here I am! Miss me? I posted to ya yesterday after you FINALLY made your grand entrance. Do your homework, Man.

Hey!!

It was totally not telepathic this morning. It was right there in black and white.

Perhaps you missed it? And here I thought you were Oz. In fact, that is my new nickname for you Mr. Zzubie, if I may. Ozzie. :teeth:

That wouldn't by any chance be Overdue, Overpacked and Overpuked now would it? Cause you know I'm not responsible for that last part. That's all you.

Get a keyboard, would ya?

BTW, BTW

I promised I would be the voice of Grammy, in the event it appeared she was mute. While at the Estate. Which it does. Appear that way.

So, pretend I am Grammy.

1) Weather is great
2) Love it at the beach
3) Mulitiple spottings of hotties with binoculars
4) Life is good
5) I don't mind if you're behind the shed while I'm gone, but please clean up after yourselves

All the cool kids are posting songs.

So here is one from a wonderful movie

As time goes by

You must remember this
A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh.
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by.

And when two lovers woo
They still say, "I love you."
On that you can rely
No matter what the future brings
As time goes by.

Moonlight and love songs
Never out of date.
Hearts full of passion
Jealousy and hate.
Woman needs man
And man must have his mate
That no one can deny.

It's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die.
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.

Oh yes, the world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.

Nice one, Lou.

To my late night Spice Shop buddies SherSher, Chappie, and JW, here's your Shout Out.
