ASO!

Home from the office, quick snack, back in the car to the gym.

Has anybody heard from Ash?

I hope she's having fun.

I am LOVING this rain. Yes I am!!

I got a text from her on Monday(ish)
They were having fun, but they were exhausted

Horsie. I think you should be the ninjasupreme of crab animation.
Those were pertty darn cool.
We'll ask Syd if that's allowed. I'm a newbie tiny ninja, so I do not know if I can bestow ninja names.

Ok. Time for a rant.

Ben is like one of my best friends in the whole wide world. He's moving as of December 30th to California, but no one really knows this. I have very limited time left with him. He's out of town for most of the next month and a half. At least he's going on the cruise with me and Tammy in December.
Sooooo.
He pretty much feels worthless at his job because his boss is a nincompoop (not the right spelling) and won't utilize him properly. She was my boss, too, but I got promoted.
So we have this huge issue happening in Long Island.
That he's already worked on.
So doesn't it make sense that he go with me to help?
And since her boss (and my boss) plus someone even higher up in the company think it's a good idea, don't you think she should let him go?

NO! Her idea is to train this evil old biddy who doesn't understand technology, refuses to learn anything new and hates me. When we're leaving MONDAY! and the evil Biddy is out of the office this week!
ARGH!

I vetoed that one.
So now I'm stuck with a nice older lady who's not really good at her job, but she tries. So that's ok.
and the 42 year old virgin. Who wants to move up in the company, but pisses everyone off so she'll never go anywhere.
So it won't be that bad.
But it's one less week with my benjarmin.

Ok. Rant over.
So did anyone actually read that?

I read it celery - I had to re read it when I got to the part of the 40 year old virgin tho (I admit I had started to skim, thought I missed a detail there!! ;) )
As Im stuck in a substitute position, I cant relate to office politics, because if Ididnt I would suck at office politics... I'm much to chatty, and get crabby when things dont go *my* way!! ;)

I appreciate your posting, Benjamin sounds like an anchor in a storm, but he's looking for an anchor, or he's just plain sick and tired of the storm!!

Great crab pics - I like mine boiled or baked with butter!! ;) :rotfl2:

PUMBA I know I posted that I love the location of the Epcot resorts - and we did ME - I have to tell you we had one horror of an experience going from WL to Orlando airport - :rotfl2: it was such a WILD adventure!! It took, I dunno 2 hours to get to the airport (maybe longer) :rotfl2: Yes the driver got lost, took us down two dead end roads, then along some 2 lane highway, I had my cell and found the number of ME, they said "do you know the number of the bus?"

NO I DO NOT< I DO KNOW THE NAME OF THE DRIVER - dont YOU know the number of the bus??? he replied "oh, well she's not answering her radio" :faint: "Have we been kidnapped?" "are we on a reality 'PUNKED' Show?" another rider had a cell phone with a gps and it kept saying "U turn, you need to make a u turn and take... whatever highway... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

we made it,not sure how...

it only started the adventure home.. horrible... 9 hour plane ride from Ord to Chicago!! YES< NINE hours!!!

"memories...."

Is there a posting frenzy going on...

does this post work?

ok, talking to myself...

time to go stand in the corner...

and do some weight lifting... then sit ups.... then push ups... then maybe run up and down the stairs for 5 min -

anybody going to join me????

Okay, okay, you don't have to shout. I'll post it again. Sheesh!

I give up. The fascination of some people around here with odd and/or warped images never fails to amaze me. And makes me seriously reconsider the sanity of the inhabitants of Mississippi. Have a round of pickled pigs feet -- my treat. Make sure to get the ones with extra gristle -- I know you love them when they're chewy.

HEY! I resemble that remark!!!!!

Just turning the page :wave2:

ESO,everyone!

My, you were busy again today.

Lou, thanks for that tip on the red X thing, very helpful, I will try it next time!

About that pic about carrying the pc around, my kid's suggested that about 8 years ago to me, LOL, the shoulder harness thing. But they were way smarter, they went with a laptop!!!!!!!!! I think I will submit a patent for that.

On the job front. we had the BIG announcement about who our new boss is today at 11-11:30. So of course we made him take us out to lunch (party of 9).

When the time came to pay the bill, his AMEX corporate card was denied because it had expired. Now, we HAVE to pay with this card to get the 60% company business discount to expense it. He was soooooooo embarrassed!

Luckily, I had mine (nobody else in the group has one), and I charged it to save the day (or the $$!!). I was going to have to figure out today how to submit it online in the new computer system we have, but really no big deal.

But get this, here is the email he sent me this afternoon:

Subject: Expense Report - I think not!

Marita,

My card was in the mail, and I had not gotten to it. So, I called home, got the expiration date, activated the card and went down to ESPN and got everything corrected.

I have a receipt that shows the orginal check voided out, and I have a new check on my card. I will try to bring the receipt over tomorrow so you have back-up.

You should not see this charge.

Thanks for taking care of it earlier. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Matt

Major brownie points to new boss!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that Todd(Lacto) has arrived safely at his destination. He called from All Star Music and was deciding which park he was going to based on what he wanted to eat most! :rotfl:

Over and out!

Cleaned out the fridge tonight, here's what I had:

SPICY BUFFALO CHICKEN SOUP

1 1/2 C. coarsely chopped cooked chicken meat
1 C. red hot sauce
1/4 C. butter
1/4 C. vegetable oil
1 C. finely diced celery
1 C. shredded carrot
8 T. flour
2 C. half-and-half
4 C. chicken broth
1/2 C. crumbled bleu cheese
Salt and pepper to taste

Marinate chicken meat and hot sauce day before. (I threw these two ingredients in the crockpot and cooked until I could shred the chicken. Thereby cooking and marinating the chicken at the same time.)

Heat butter and oil, add celery and carrots, sauté till just tender. Stir in flour well, cook 1 minute. Add half-and-half and chicken broth, stirring well, cooking to thicken. Stir in chicken and hot sauce (I shredded the meat then put it and the hot sauce "juice" in), and bleu cheese crumbles, cooking to melt bleu cheese. Season with salt and pepper.

If you like hot stuff...Mmmmmm!!

Dre, let us know what he decided, LOL!

rug rats went home at 4:45........the last one anyways.....hubby took his mom to her doctors appointment at the same time.....I made homemade mac and cheese and had my allotted one cup (and a little extra)....and did the dishes...we dont have to go tonight to the home because he got home at six and I have a stinking headache.....
Our granddaughter came over today in her own car....she got her license yesterday and then went to her moms insurance company and then to the registration bureau.....and is a happy little kid.........last night she drove her mother (father and son stayed home) to the soccer banquet for her varsity high school team....being a senior they had a big ta dooo......she got the academic allsport award, and then honorable mention in the KVAC conference for soccer...she was very happy with that award....soccer is her favorite sport and then in the spring she does track so she can polevault and throw the spear, Javelin I believe......she loves those...
SO now I am sitting here vegging.......long day today
marie

Pumba -- that is the day I dread, when my kids start to drive. We saw an accident on the way to swimming tonight. I swear 10 teenagers got out of the car. It went in the ditch. To scary.

Marita-- Way to save the day.....

Dre--Glad Todd got there safe.

Horsey -- those crabs are creepy...

Granddaughter can not drive anyone except immediate family for 6 months.....that is a good law......by the time she can do that ....she will be graduating and working until college starts.......She will probably get accepted to the ones she is applying to.....she is a top student out of 350 kids....she is athletic......she scored high on sats.......she is an all around kid.....she wants to go to vet school......so she has to be tops in her class to go to grad school.....so she is already working on it...she did two college classes at the local college lsat year.....sociology and phys development.....she got a B plus and an A.....she does AP classes too at the school......so she is ready academically....will miss her though.....

My son Jordan is 17 and I would not let him even take driver's ed until he got better grades. Mean I know. But not in my opinion. Guess what? his grades got sooo much better! Everytime his grades slip, he loses his priviledges including his precious cell phone (which is a fate worse than dealth). He is a senior this year and has a 3.5 or better! I am so proud of this child who used to hate school!

Recently we had our first "disagreement" in a long while. He had a MY SPACE page and there was a questionaire he had filled out asking yes or no questions and he marked "yes" to do you drink? I calmly (surprise) asked him what message he was telling people by marking yes to that question. I asked him if THAT'S how he wanted to be portrayed? And I asked him if he had ever drank alcohol and he answered honestly, I hope. Yes he has tasted it when he stayed with his dad last summer(GRRRR!!!). Whatever. I'm really glad it was a calm conversation and I feel good about everything we discussed.

He is only a few years away from being a grown up and 6 mo. till he's legally one. I think he's going to be an awesome "man".

I think Wesley has been DISing again. He is drawing pictures for me. Squirrels, chipmunks, cats and dogs. He has now named them, by writing a name under their picture. The two squirrels he named (NO KIDDING): YAK and JOE. The other names I'm not sure of. The chipmunk he named Hamlin. The cat he named Acrewood (as in 100... ~I think). The dog is named Double.

This child never ceases to amaze me. :goodvibes

he is a cutie and smart to boot......I was dissing the other day and the six year old second grader..(to smart for his own good).....saw a bouncing lady over at the lodge.....he laughed his head off and I got off the lodge and stayed on the dis...ROFL....He told his daddy that he saw a bouncing lady on my computer....he went home and tried to find it too.......
