Here is a green bean casserole I love. Not for the diet consciouse(sp) though:
INGREDIENTS:
1 large bag frozen green beans, thawed (or use canned beans, I prefer them, 3 cans)
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup choppped onions
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 cups sliced mushrooms
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded
1 can fried onion rings (or 2)
DIRECTIONS:
In skillet, melt butter and cook onions for 2 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook until golden. Stir in
soup and cream. Bring to a simmer. Stir in the he cheddar cheese. Seasn with salt and pepper.
Stir in green beans and toss to coat.Transfer to a buttered cassererole. Top with fried onions and
bake for 30 minutes until bubbly.
