Moo googled one night. Thanksgiving started in Canada. We have it the second Monday in Oct. It is also Oktoberfeast as well so we have a Thanksgiving parade with bands playing the bird dance song and beer barrel floats.--

Oh great, I want our Thanksgiving to coincide with Oktoberfest, too!! Wouldn't that make for much better family dinners?! Family goes better with beer. Or wine. Or hard liquor. IMHO.

Tink --I love your new picture. I too thought Richards hair would be shorter... like a buzz cut. I also know why your dish washer looked like that because I did that when I was his age to my mom's new dishwasher.

Marita -- your grandturtle is huge. And yours is so tiny. Well it get that big....how heavy is George (?) did I get that right.

Marita -- your grandturtle is huge. And yours is so tiny. Well it get that big....how heavy is George (?) did I get that right.

You got that right, NAB. George is about 30 pounds and 2' i guess. Leo is really also my grandturtle, he belongs to my daughter who still lives at home. Leo is about an inch now, may 1 1/4".

I did not expect to have George back to babysit, but sons' home got invaded by ants, so he had to be evacuated to avoid the spraying. But that was like 5 days ago, and he is still here!!!!!!!!!!!

(George, that is, not my son! Son is enjoying tortoise free living right now)

What do they eat for Thanksgiving in Canada? Is it like our Turkey and stuffing and green bean caserole and lime jello salad? (the last two in my DH's family).

Yes. He put Palmolive in the dishwasher. What a fun day it's been!

I did this very thing once to my Mom, I didn't know any better and we were out of the other stuff.
