You know. After I came back from Manhattan in March I wrote a bit about ground zero and the feelings evoked by just standing there gazing upon that site....

I was there a couple of summers ago, and it was very odd seeing that much open space in the city. I can only imagine the unsettling feeling it is for those who live there. Of course, I'd never live in the city. . .at least not THAT city. . .well, pretty much ANY large city. . .need the elbow room. . .

Lou. That's amazing. And heartbreaking. I've never even been to NYC and still, to me, those towers are (were) a symbol of the ingenuity and strength of that city and our nation.

Morning stromers! Once again, I'm like 50 pages or so behind. And at this point I don't have time to catch up. Wil try to later today. Hope everyone is well!

Blessings!

Morning Peeps

Everyone is looking very colorful and lovely today

Including me :dance3: :dance3:

Mark - When I look at your location, it just cracks me up. :teeth:

Monday - Nutwing #1 has posted the SOI. Leave your comments. I want to save them, cause I am a collector, but not like Hannibal Lector.

Hope everyone is feeling better today. John and Hayley are both running fevers. WHO licked my keyboard :guilty:

Just dropping in to tell everyone.

Two days! :cool1: :cool1:  :Pinkbounc

Ignore the counter that says 3 days. I only count tomorrow and Wednesday as "days".

Thursday around 10 we'll be pulling into POR! :moped:

My Tribute (in case anyone hasn't seen it.)

:(

Lou, that was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.

I had read it before when I first found your blog and it moved me then but reading it again on this morning of all mornings just brings it into focus.

Prayers for all the families that lost loved ones five years ago today.

Stay away from my keyboard ... Piper is sick. Zzubie sick. Poor bunny. Missing picture day at school. Bla.

Morning Peeps!

I too, am just checking in to say, Good Morning to all!

I'll have to catch up later!

I was watching the 9/11 coverage and just can't watch anymore.....
Lou - thanks again for the tribute. I saw and read it on your blog a while ago, but read it again this morning. Very touching!

I don't personally know anyone who was there or who lost a love one, but it truly has had an impact on all. My condolences to anyone who lost someone on this day, 5 short years ago.

:sad1:

Whew, you should all come and see the view!!!

It's just too bad that it's not hot out.....the weather, that is....... :smooth: because it's unfortunate that the sweaters have to stay on.

Well, gotta go and clean my windows.....in the back!!!! :rotfl2:

Wonderfully wrote yet heartbreaking all at the same time. I sit here far, far away from NY in my tiny town in Iowa and still it hits home.

Our little town always rings the church bells on Sept 11th at the time of impact to make sure we never forget. Thanks Lou!

LaLa,

I think I feel a Swoon coming on!

 Everyone!

Good morning everyone!

Such a strange day. We did know someone who was there. A guy in one of the churches we'd served was in one of the towers for a meeting. He evacuated, and was not injured, but he had PTSD and has had a hard time with things since then. So even way down here in GA, we had people affected. I cannot imagine what it must be like for those of you had to witness it first-hand. It was bad enough on TV.

An interesting thing, to me. I was pregnant when it happened. I was four months along. In Dec 1941, my grandmother was four months pregnant with my dad. Both my dad and my son were born into a world that was drastically different than it had been 6 months prior to their birth.

Prayers for America today. Lots of prayers.
