YAK, where do you find firefighters to make a deck? The ones around here alll have plumber's backside and smell like Old Milwaukee. Get that zoom lens out. Come on. Dare ya. OR, pretend to be taking before -and-after deck pics.

I am off-center today. Alan Jackson's "Where were you when the world stopped turning?" pretty much sums it up for me.

DH's cousin is one of the firefighters and his buddy has a deck building business on the side. So, the firefighters build decks on their days off!
Lucky me!!!

Sher - yes, I'll need a course in Stealth 101. But, don't worry they will be here for about 3 weeks!

I have a NON-deck. I've had it for 3 years now. Since we ripped down the old rickety one with no stairs.

Hubby, bless his heart, has been working on it for 3 years. The very first lumber was put in place YESTERDAY.

Hi Rhonda and everyone else!

I was exactly 13 weeks along with with my twins on Sept 11, 2001 and had in fact, announced my pregnancy to co-workers at 8:20ish and we were standing around talking pregnancies, babies, and twins (my place of work had an incidence of twinning about 200 times the national average) when we heard The News....... talk about one of those moments of contrasts.....

YAK~ Do you think they would cross the border for work? We don't have a deck...but I'm sure I could put one somewhere...and it would have to be BIG...two stories even...you know, to make it worth their while! (And to entertain me too!) Since I'm on vacation the week you all will be Maelstromming around the World, see if they're available the first week of Oct...that might help ease the pain.

True Story!
Today while I was going for a walk, in a vain (in both senses of the word) attempt to not look like, well, Mrs. Claus 'cause y'all are all getting spiffy for the big meet and I am such a joiner that I want to too (get spiffy that is, not jet off to WDW... well I do want that too, but I am not 'cause... well... anyway back on topic)... today, while walking and not singing anything about natural women or cowboys cause I don't have an ipod and I do have a one year old who isn't talking yet so I need to keep a running commentary about oh look son look look a doggie. nice doggie. See the vegetable garden. Mr. Jones loves his vegetables and has a nice garden. But no doggie. No doggie here. Yes, doggie there. There is a doggie at that house. That blue house has a BIG doggie. You get the idea. I spy... with my little eye... laying on the ground next to the trash can.....

yes folks! flags! Purple and blue and gold and sparkly flags. Like you would use for drum core and for a moment I thought about snatching them.........
