It would be better if our OLD KICKER would just come back. Alleviate the need for training someone new and all, thereby saving us both time and effort. Our OLD KICKER was all about that, was he not? SO COME BACK!!!

Mark,

I feel like I should say: Amen! Pass the offering plate brother!!!

But, you are so right. It is a lot easier to blame God than to look to him for comfort. I don't get it but that seems to be the way it happens. We just need to change our way of thinking. We're told that God doesn't give us more than we can handle. However, people don't go to Him to help them "handle" it. He doesn't expect us to go through life alone. Either the good or bad of it.

Okay, now I am done preaching! I've lived with a preacher too long!

JAJ-I personally like the curly but I like that you can do it either way. It's nice to have options!

Mark ~
I just read your words of wisdom. And they are. That. Wise.

Thank you for continuing to teach us, or remind us, or however you wish to phrase it.

You truly have a gift, and a calling.

Thanks Mark, it's always nice to be reminded that God is in all things, bad and good. It's so hard to begin to move past something tragic, but once you do, God is the almighty healer.

by brandt79 : Today at 02:56 PM. Reason: Amen, Amy - of course it's Christian!

And it doesn't turn the other cheek!!!!

Yeah - the Mouse House tickers are back!! But they're back without the countdown...

Hi, Y’all!

Wow. It’s been WAY too serious over here lately.
SID – I am so sorry about your friends. Thanks for asking about the tummy. It’s all good now.
AMY – LOVE the girl’s dress! You have Mad Skillz, woman!
GRAMMY – Thanks for asking where I was. I’ll get to that in a second.
CHRIS and PONGO – Thanks for yesterday! BTW, I DO have free unlimited Nationwide anytime minutes, Chris, so I don’t know why you keep telling me to switch! I could just call YOU, ya know?

Where in the HECK are the Poops???
Mark and Rhonda – good to see you again!
LOU! – Fantabulous pics!!!!

LALA – Hope you’re not wolley today. I was. After reading your post. I had to close my office door and do the snot cry. Yeah, umnnn….thanks for that.

You see, people, I sent Richard off to BIG boy school (he’d CRAP if he saw me type that) yesterday. He started the 6th Grade. New School, new teachers, and new kids. Only three from last year are in his class.

His locker did not open properly and he had to get an 8th grader to help him open it between classes. That’s new, too. These kids are VERY intimidated by having to walk to an unfamiliair classroom. I gave him money for a new key, plus fifteen dollars for Lab fees, oh, and apparently I have to buy him a trumpet. Or he can’t be in the band.

All in all, he had a good day. Me – not so much. I’ve been wolley all weekend. I’ll get over it, I guess.

And I know those of you with girls think it’s not as bad with a boy. I’m here to tell you that you are very much mistaken. My child is my one and only and there will be no more. It took me four years and a miscarriage before I was blessed with him. He is also a very sensitive child.

I know what La2 means when she worries that all children aren’t nice. They aren’t. I’ve already seen it. (Heck, I’m pretty sure when I was younger I WAS it.)

The point is that we all grow from life’s experiences, be they good or bad. It’s up to us how we are going to live our lives. We can make them good or bad just by attitude. Well, it’s a start, anyway.

Now, bring on the funny, for Jiminy’s sake!

When I get home I'll post a Redneck 1st day of school pic for you from Da Nint' Wawd. It's real, too!!!!

Geez, JW --- are you serious?? From a $329 camera to one that is almost FIVE frickin' (sorry Frick) THOUSAND???? Do ya have a middle ground here??

Kimmie, you can get the 7600 for a little over $200.

That other one can easily run alot more than $5000 since it doesn't include lenses, but it does take great pics (I actually know someone that has the slightly older model). I doubt that you are really interested in one of the digital SLRs anyway.

There really isn't any reason to go with one that is any more expensive than the Canon S2 or the newer S3 unless you are really into photography.

Hey guys!!

Wow it has been a very serious day.

Sid- I am very sorry for your friends.

Mark- That was very well said. I tried to get your meaning across to this lady I work with. She is friends with someone who lost their 6 yr old son this weekend. I didn't know them but I hope she can help them.

Thanks for the opinions on my hair. I have to get a perm put in it to make it straight and I like it that way better, I guess because it is different. I just don't want to pay that money if I look goofy with straight hair.

I hope everyone has a better evening. I'm off to school. blah

Tink!! I'm wolley now. (I think ... I'm just guessing by context what wolley means. I'm guessing sort of emotional wreck-ish?) I hope you're doing ok. I hope the kids are nice to your boy. Middle school is such a wondrous and scary place.

We got a call last night from Conor's new teacher. She invited him to visit her at school next week, with 2 other kids from their class, for a nature walk, picnic and checking out the classroom. I think that's so cool -- she's doing this for all the kids, which means her whole last week of vacation will be spent getting to know the kids in small groups BEFORE they show up on the first day of school. I think we got a good one!

I am way behind and doubt I will be able to catch up on the last few pages but I wanted to say, Sid, I am so sorry. It is always tragic when someone dies so young. :grouphug:

And Mark, that was very well said. I may email that to a friend who lost her father a few weeks back. Mark, I have not seen you around here much, I hope things will slow down a little for you. We miss ya.

Off to the Airport.

Catch you crazy Vikings tonight :sunny:

Oh Tink, give your son a hug from me.

When Ryan started Middle School the only comforting thing I could think to say to him was, "it only lasts three years and then you never have to go back."

Hey all!

Would someone please kick the server. I posted and lost it all. Then I had to re-boot cause everything froze. Wuz up with that?

:badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

Anyway,

Went to see barnyard today. I fell asleep. Kids thought that was funnier than the movie.

And then DS comes up to me and says, "Why can't we go back to Disney World now?" Oh my, I think I've done it now!

SID - Really sorry about your friend... :grouphug:

Mark - very nice words and well said.

Horsey - Welcome Back. We missed you!

Pongo - :bride: Have a great weekend. We have a wedding in Toronto to go to on Saturday. I'll be thinking of my Viking friend across the Lake.

Kimmie - Woman over 40....Ain't that the truth!

Amy - The link was too funny! :rotfl2: Treadmillers change directions!

I'll try to stop by :sunny: tonight.

Here's a little joke to pick things up:

The Priest
A distinguished young woman on a flight from Ireland asked the priest
beside her, "Father, may I ask a favor?"
"Of course. What may I do for you?"
"Well, I bought an expensive electronic hair dryer that is well over the
Customs limits and I'm afraid they'll confiscate it. Any way you could
carry it through Customs for me? Under your robes perhaps?"
"I would love to help you, dear, but I must warn you: I will not lie."
"With your honest face, Father, no one will question you."
When they got to Customs, she let the priest go ahead of her.
The official asked, "Father, do you have anything to declare?"
"From the top of my head down to my waist, I have nothing to declare."
The official thought this answer strange, so asked, "And what do you have
to declare from your waist to the floor?"
"I have a marvelous little instrument designed to be used on a woman, but
which is, to date, unused."
Roaring with laughter, the official said, "Go ahead, Father."
Next!

Thanks for all the well wishes!
You guys really mean so much to me :)
I will be thinking about you I am sure :)
I will be checking in at some point over the week.

We just got the Canon A620 and love it! Awesome and only at $221 from Amazon with free shipping, didn't seem too pricey to me....Guess Virginians are really cheapskates.....

Hi all. Drive by posting. Trying to catch up which is next to impossible. I owe a lot of phonecalls and emails and pms....working through that.

will be :sunny: tonight I think.

LYMI to all :yay:
Ouch! I think I've just been horsey-whipped! Mayhaps I didn't think the Canon A620 was the right camera for me. . .just sadeen'. ;) 'Sides, we just got 'lectricity lass year. . .or wuz it aught-four? I dunno.

I believe I failed to respond to a request about my opinion on the Biltmore wines, so I apologize in advance. I have found their wines decent to good. Their whites are okay, but I really enjoy their cabernet. Have a bottle in my cellar as I type, in fact. Bought some cab when we went to hear Bruce Hornsby live at Biltmore last year. Nice berry notes up front, finishing with a touch of vanilla and cedar. Quite delectable.

As for school, it starts tomorrow here. . .first grade for me. . .well, not ME but Princess. The bigger shock came last year when she started kindergarten. Doc was okay since she had to work, but the day before classes started, I was tres pensive and everything seemed poignant to me. Should be better this year.

Now, it's time to finish dinner: chitlins, hoe cakes, and greens. . .okay, so it's really my Chicken Sink. . .

I feel :sunny:
Oh so :sunny:
It's so :rotfl:
How :sunny:
I feeeeeeeeeeel!
