Yet again within this ground so green,

Not content to harass and annoy,

Your legion of hosts do employ

Such natural skill as to hide

Your true nature both near, far, and wide.

Yet, you’ve ne’er learned I have mad skills,

You pesky, pernicious, whiny li’l yellow jacket.



Mayhaps you believe emboldened you may fly

Within my boundaries uncontested and un-espied?

To gain footing, take root, populate, even copulate?

But you, wily foe, no not my temperamental state!



So easy, then, did I ferret your nest and wings that whiny,

Buzzing unheeded in the black hole ‘neath my estate.

Perched precipitously near thy den of hormonal buzzing

Did I utter a Browncoat’s infamous line: “Shiny.”



Nowhere in the ‘Verse can you run and hide

To escape the cans of death I keep at my side.

One or four it matters not

For I assure you I am a deadly shot.



Yet one hour did pass as the cans littered the lawn,

As you kept coming: wave after wave of yellow-specked knaves.

Finally upon my dull-ed brain a grand idea did dawn,

The answer resting in the green ‘snake’ connected to my own enclave.



Into your quarter-sized maw of a nest ran the flowing doom,

Since not even hundreds of you can make enough room.

Angry, maddened, buzzing in numbers of dozens,

You failed to know the depth of my hatred for you and your cousins.



The sun beat down mercilessly upon the site of your tomb.

Littered with fallen denizens of your wing-ed type.

I lingered awhile still unscathed from the fracas,

Which is nothing short of being near mirac’lous.



Let this be a lesson, then, to any and all jacks who survive,

Don’t come ‘round here to remain alive.

DH left early this morning to go to Atlanta. He has a meeting, but I have given him the additional assignment of finding Chappie.
He'll be there until Wednesday, so I'll be available for (this one works???) most nights....(aaahhh, the non-believers!)
NM, Amy, M&R, Frick, and all my GA friends, take care of DH while he's there, thanks!

So, we went to a very fun wedding last night. It was my cousin, who I haven't seen in at least 10 years. He was getting married for the first time at age 53.
Good food, great band and free bar!
I was also thinking of Pongo & Andy across the lake.
It rained on and off here yesterday, so hopefully the weather stayed on our side.

I'm still a bit tired, so I think I'll go back to bed for a snooze.......kids are watching Sponge Bob so that should keep them occupied for a bit...
