A little wolley today because a. Conor and Piper rode the bus to school for the first time and b. Sydney had her first day of preschool. Conor is used to riding the bus home from school, but something about watching the big yellow monster swallow up my babies made me sniffly. A little teary even. I think it was mostly the way my brave Piper girl was a little nervous, and looking to her big brother for support. And he gave it. Held her hand, agreed to sit with her, including sitting in the middle in the event another kid joined them so that Piper wouldn't have to sit by someone she didn't know. And vowed to hold her hand until he delivered her safely to her teacher once they reached school.

AND, brought Syd to her first day of preschool. She was a little hesitant entering the room, but did not cry and did not cling on to me. She made a beeline for the puzzle table and from there she didn't look back.

Why should I be wolley? I WANT her to be happy to go there. I DON't WANT her to cry. But watching her grow up and shed her babyhood in the last real way left... well, it makes me misty.

Proud, too.

I meant to thank Tink for the dictionary yesterday. Seriously. I have been asking people for a long time what "Boo" meant because everyone (ok I heard on tv and later on a song) seemed to use it but no one seemed to know if it meant a darling child or more like, well, a babydaddy
