Hi all. Been quite a week, let me tell you. The waters from the Great Flood have more or less receded, but we still have drying equipment in the house. Apparently, moisture got trapped between the hardwoods on the first floor and the subfloor, so they have set up this incredibly complex giant sucking contraption with all sorts of hoses and stuff to get the water out. Makes quite a racket. Not quite as loud as the racket our dishwasher made, however, as it gave up the ghost on Wednesday, after 14 years of hard work. We appreciate its years of service, and gave it a nice little pat on its way to the scrap heap (new dishwasher arrives today). Then, apparently, the garbage disposal was feeling a little piqued at missing out on all the attention, and began to cry (well, leak actually, because what we really needed in our house was yet more water). New garbage disposal arrives later this week. We're keeping a close eye on the refrigerator, as it seems to be the only major appliance that hasn't pitched a hissy fit lately. Matter of time, I'm sure.

Wow. Chappie, it sounds like you need to teach your appliances who's boss.

Power went out last night b/c we had a bad storm. The Phone has been out for 2 days. I feel like I live in the backwoods !! Gotta run out and clean the OutHouse! It's worse than Little House on the Flippin' Prairie.
