Just spoke with a National agent to ask why my 8 day rental in Orlando (EA, DC, Entertainment coupon) states: "A Minimum of 8 Days will be charged."

For the last 3 years I've rented from National about 4 times a year and have never noticed that full payment was going to be required as a minimum.

The agent told me that I WILL have to pay for 8 days, no matter what. She said that this is a stipulation in some locations and in some cases and could offer me no other explanation or information if this was a new policy.

I played around with other codes and didn't get this 8 day requirement with those codes ---- but they were a lot more $$$.

So, read your rental terms carefully each time you rent, to be sure you understand what you're agreeing to.

As much as I really like National and using EA, this leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. It's not like I've got some great rate, like you may get through Priceline.

Mine says 5 day rental will be charged, and I have it for 8 days.

I guess when you contract for a certain rental period they are now going to make you pay for it. Not that you would'nt but, there are those out there that will book for a week and return it after 3 days and expect the weekly rate.
BTW, National and Alamo have been sold, the new company takes possession on Oct.1, not sure what your dates are, but, perhaps this is a new thing with the new company.

I've rented for 9 days and it states the minimum 5 days!

I used Ent Coupon and Disney Club and the one week at $139.00 special rate.
