We bought the re-fillable mugs during our April vacation. We love the new design.

But, one of our pink mugs has a leak somewhere and is holding water. Do you think I could get a replacement? We have mugs from years ago and they have never leaked.

Thanks!

Give them a call and see what they say but I would doubt it. If you were still on your stay then they probably would but not after you left. Take a good look and see if you can find a crack. When you do just dribble a little super glue on it. Good luck

That's a good idea! We figure these mugs are souvenirs and DD8 is bummed that she can't use hers. I think the seal around the top must be leaking. I'll try to find it.

Thanks!

:headache: Ours leaks too. I found that once I washed them in the dishwasher, water got trapped in the cup "somewhere". I guess over time, that caused a small hole and the cup leaks from the handle. Since you just purchased the cup in April, I would contact the resort where you purchased the cup. They should be able to help in getting a replacement. :thumbsup2

Note to future purchasers ... hand wash the cups!!! It will preserve the graphics and the cup as a whole. :goodvibes

We use the dishwasher too and none of them have ever done this. I have Year of a Million Dreams mugs and they're still fine. Wish these lasted as long.

See, they are only good for the length of the trip that you bought them. ;)

Maybe Disney has finally found a solution to all those people bringing their old mugs back again and again. Now, the mugs literally begin to decompose after the first trip. Thats one way to solve the problem.

Claire :)

Another option, if you can't replace or repair - use the mug for something else; we keep pens in one!

Too funny :) We have mugs from two previous trips but they're fine!! I'm going to call or email just to see if we can get a replacement. Maybe if I promise to get a new one next time they'll send me a replacement for this one!

I'm sure this is obvious but you know on the bottom where that little lip part comes out, you can pull off the bottom and have the water drain.
I have to do this everytime I empty from the dishwasher.
Mine are so used and old they don't have anything on the outside anymore.
My kids are older (17 and 13) but I still give it to my ds-13 when he wants a drink in his room since it has a lid.
Did you pull out the bottom and let the water escape?

I didn't realize the bottom comes off- I'll have to check. Thanks!

They don't come apart. :) A couple generations back the mugs were actually mugs (I have the gray/silver one from the CR) they were two parts, the mug and a bottom cover that snapped on but the the current ones are not two pieces but one molded piece and more like a coffee travel mug. It does seem the new ones are a little thinner then the previous version with the red image. Maybe my imagination... I suspect that if it is leaking the handle has a crack where it connects to the cup. Human nature would suggest to remove the lid you should twist the cap using the handle for leverage... I guess this is why the lid says to not turn it to remove it.

Thanks. I looked at them and decided there was no way they're coming apart :) I'm going to see if I can get a replacement because DD8 really loves her mug.

Is the leak in the big hole at the top?

Superglue contains hydrogen cyanide... YUM!
