Hi there - we love the CR - even the wings!
The transportation to MGM and AK is by bus, but it is fine. We do NOT like the bus from the CR to Downtown Disney however - but we may have just had bad luck! You do share busses with the GF and the Poly though - so after Fantasmic - the bus is PRETTY FULL! We always have a rental car, so we drive to MGM almost all the time.
The food court area is fairly small - not like the food courts in the value resorts - but what they have is good stuff! My daughter Jennie thinks they have the best chicken fingers and french fries anywhere! They also serve salads, pizza, hot breakfasts, etc. The arcade attached to the food court is awesome - biggest and best on property! The restaurants upstairs on the concourse are awesome as well - Chef Mickey's speaks for itself - and we've had awesome luck at Concourse Steakhouse as well. If you are looking for milk, donuts, etc - they are much cheaper at the sundries shop on the fourth floor than in the food court. They also offer Frozen Coke in the refillable mugs - my DH LOVES that!
The pool is one of our favorites - no zero entry - but it is a free form pool with a hot tub in the middle (looks like a Hidden Mickey from the air). The slide is fun - not nearly as wimpy as AKL's slide! There is another hot tub around behind the slide, and a quiet pool out by the Bay Lake. They also have the best watersports available here - water mice, parasailing, etc!
We prefer the North Wing ourselves - the South Wing is a little closer to the pool, but further from MK and the main building. You are going to love your stay here!
