My dh, our 2 girls (7 & 2) and I were thinking about having lunch or dinner here when we are staying at BWI. I was just curious what people thought about their meals and if I should call and make an ADR for it. Any info would be helpful and appreciated very much.

Thanks,
Deb*

I haven't been there in six years, I think, but DH and I did enjoy it. The menu was kid-friendly, the waitstaff was attentive and the burgers we had were good. I know they have more on the menu than burgers, but I would stick with the basics. You probably don't need an ADR, but with kids, it is always better to be safe.

Big River does not take ADR's. I have not ate at this particular restaurant, but have at soem of their other ones and the food is excellent and their beer is even better.

Thank you for the quick replies! Greatly appreciated! Perhaps I'll ask just to be safe if they take ADR's or not when I call to make a couple other ones. It couldn't hurt and then I'll know one way or the other. It looks like a fun place from what I've seen so far and we'll be right there, so thought it would be a good place to try especially since dh is very fond of beer. :-)

We thought it was okay for what it was - they don't take reservations but we easily walked in one afternoon.

We didn't enjoy any of their beers, just not our thing, but they were great about letting us try each one before choosing =)

(I had the pulled pork and it came with kettle chips, both of which were yummy)

We had an okay lunch around 2:30P. So we decided to try it for dinner on a another trip. Big mistake. The person seating people was rude, the manager was rude, the server was rude. The table was dirty when they seated us and did not clear it. The food was terrible- meatloaf burned on the outside and frozen (literally) in the center. We'll never eat there again.

We've tried it twice and were not overly impressed. It is not owned by Disney, so you might not be able to get an ADR. I've eaten at Spoodle's and ESPN and liked both much better.

To make an ADR you need to call them up directly not Disney. As a previous poster said they are not owned by Disney. Not sure of #. But there were several previous post about this and this was where I got my info from. THe CM will probably be able to give the # to you to call for reservations. So if my info is wrong I am sorry.

Sorry if sounds rude not meant to be I am typing this at 2:30 am, Should be in bed :surfweb:

We've tried Big River twice.....The first time was for lunch & the beer was good, but the food was terrible......So, last June, we decided to give it another shot for dinner......BIG MISTAKE!

The beer, again was good, but the food was just as bad.

When we want to eat at a Boardwalk sit down, we normally either go to ESPN or Spoodles.....Both have been great every time!
