I ate some raw pineapple at lunch yesterday, and I was so sick by the end of the day that I went straight to bed when I got home from work (before 5 PM). I had an inkling that raw pineapple didn't agree with me, as I've had mixed drinks with pineapple juice previously and it upset my stomach, but I can eat cooked pineapple (on pizza, for example) and have no issues.
I have the same problem with raw broccoli. I can eat steamed broccoli just fine but raw broccoli really upsets my stomach, pretty much the exact same symptoms as the pineapple.
I did a little research today but can't figure out what the commonality is between the two foods. Any suggestions?
