I thought that anyone who is thinking about making a reservation at the Swan might want to be made aware of this.

I contacted a reservationist with Swan/Dolphin today to ask about my reservation and was told that the rates for the Swan just went up. I am not sure when or what the new rates are, but was told that my Club level rate that I got on 4/22 for my Dec 26 to Jan 3 trip for $209.06 w/tax would now be $236.48 w/tax.

I am sure no one is surprised that with the renovations that were just done, that the rates would go up. I just thought that I would let you guys know.

So not to scare everyone who has already made a reservation, if you made a reservation prior to this rate increase that must of happened in the last week, don't worry, your rate will not go up, just like mine isn't going up or changing .

Thanks, Jason. I'm sure the Dolphin is next, as the renovations are currently underway. Not a significant increase...with all the NEW PERKS associated with these resorts (Ahhh...Heavenly beds and Sweet Sleepers). :p Yet, every penny counts...and that's a LOT OF PENNIES!

The info is greatly appreciated (and I'm positive all whom reserved trips to the Swan prior to the increase are doing the HAPPY DANCE!)

dreamflight99, or anyone else "in the know":
I have reservations for June 15-19 at the Swan. I just called to see if my rate would be going up, and the reservations office had closed for the evening. I will call tomorrow to verify, but does anyone know if I will be paying the new rate or the rate I booked at? I made the reservations in early Feb through Dreams Unlimited, and so far have not been notified of an increase.

What? I did'nt know a hotel could change the rate on a reserved room. I've been traveling for ## years and have never had that happen. I frequently pay in advance and would not be thrilled to learn my 'paid in full' reservation was going up.

Muffinish & Tigger Woods

Sorry If I wasn't clear with my post.

I was told when I inquired about possible getting the same rate for a friend that my friend would have to pay $236.48 since the rates just went up. I was told that my rate would remain $209.06 since I made the reservation before the rates went up.

As long as you made your reservation prior to the rate increase, your rate will remain what you were quoted at the time of the reservation. I wouldn't worry about it.

yup, it seems the rates for the Swan are on average $15 - $30 more per night than the Dolphin, depending on season, category of room, discount, etc...
I saw the newly renovated rooms, adn I would pay more for them! they are gorgeous!

word is that they are redoing the hallways also, getting rid of the cabana strip, beach, theme.
shweeew, the new rooms are so elegent, the original corridor decor just neede an update!

Laura:)

Muffinish,

DU is really good at letting people know if something comes up with the reservation.

I wouldn't even worry about calling the Swan or DU. If something comes up your DU repersentative will contact you.
