rarest pins?

Check out PinPics 42101 which is a one of a kind pre-production. I have no idea what it is worth, but I could get a lot of money if I wanted to sell it.

You sure could! Some of the 1982 vintage Figment pins are pricey, if you can find them for sale (or trade).

I think that with the exception of a pin set from the 2005 September Pin Event I have at least one of every Figment or Dreamfinder pin made.

This is a hard question to ask about Disney pins, because every trader/collector has a different opinion on the rare pins out there. For sure though, most traders believe these are 4 very rare pins:

I have seen all of these pins sell for at least $100 or more on ebay.

I think the selling prices you have seen on ebay are a bit on the low side. The HM Dangle regularly sells in the $400 range.

the masterpiece series of 30 pins has been selling very high lately on ebay - I would say most pins with a LE 100 or lower are the rare pins and any that are a LE 1 of course would be the rarest to me

I have been wondering what my set of cast member pins is worth. I have never seen a complete set, and even when @ WDW with other cast members, I STILL had not seen a complete set.

There are 4 cast pin parties in WDW every year (so I understand). In 2007, there were 4 pins you could buy at each of the pin parties. In addition, every CM got a "mystery" pin that came in a black bag to complete the set.

Also at these "parties" were the cardboard background's that the pins fit directly on to create a scene. The pins that could be bought are Mickey, Minnie, Pluto & Goofy all holding their own cast member ID's with their pictures in them (VERY cute). The others are Chip & Dale (1 pin), Tinkerbell, Donald and Daisy. All pins are etched with a gold "rim".

So, the challenge had many obstacles. To either attend every party to get the pins you could buy AND then be lucky enough to get the mystery pins that you needed at the other events to complete your set.

I have to admit, I was rather lucky! I was able to acquire the pins to buy at the parties. And found a lady at the very last party, who had 2 of the "mystery pins" I needed. I had 2 pins she wanted. I then actually got the other mystery pins myself by chance.

I have asked many many pin traders (the serious ones people) you know the ones that literally have 10's of thousands of pins. And many if not all of them, had only ever seen but one or two of the pins in this set. One of these traders told me that two of the hardest things to get in this set is the cardboard background (only given out at the 4 cast parties) and the chip & dale pin (was created with most limited quantity).

Below is a link showing the card. Each character shown is a pin; I have the set

Do any of you have an idea as to it's value? I would welcome any and all opinions.
