Rapid Rewards question

I booked on SW for the first time today and signed up for a RR account at the same time. On my itinerary, it looks like I only get the RR points for my own flight and that I need to create RR accounts for each passenger in order to receive their points as well? Is that right? Or if they don't have RR accounts, will I just get the points for all 5 tickets?

You only get points for your flight. Each person needs their own RR number to earn their own points. If each person doesn't have a RR number, the points are lost for their flights.

It's definitely a pain, but go ahead and create the accounts. Make sure to keep good notes-user ID, passwords, exact punctuation...etc. then, after y'all each accumulate points, check out the "new" ability to transfer points to another person. Yes, there is a charge, but it's less than buying points outright. We have been working the Rapid Rewards shopping very aggressively for the past year and so far have earned enough points for 7 legs of our Dec trip. (We've been doing some home remodeling and used several RR shopping vendors.)
