*Rant*-Verizon Wireless Cell Phone Service..

My fiance & I have had Verizon for years, and never once had a problem. They've always been really great and actually given us some pretty great deals on phones a few times, too.

ETA - I've had Verizon for years and have been very pleased. My only complaint is that they don't have the iPhone (yet!) but when they do I'll be thrilled.

I'm suffering with my blackberry. Verizon needs to get the iphone.

Its still a big problem for them to be fraudulently overcharging you. Once is a mistake, but given the amount of times, they should be reported to the Better Business Bureau.

It's definitely a problem, but myself I was only overcharged twice in 10 years. Once was a weird thing that happened when I added a line to my phone, that was taken care of immediately, the other was an error that the rep made when we upgraded our phones under the "new every 2" deal, they removed texting completely and we didn't realize it. Well I text a lot, so when I saw all those charges I called and the rep fixed the account and gave me back my unlimited texting for $5 deal AND credited ALL the texts from the month before. Both were understandable issues and taken care of immediately. Nothing to report on my end, the OP on the other hand may want to consider it..... :)

Other than their 100 year old residential and business landline services, Verizon does seem to have a lot of billing problems. I read mostly about them affecting FiOS service, not wireless, but it is basically the same story. The number of times that charges are applied that are inconsistent with the contracted service or publishing pricing is pretty strange. That's just one of the downsides of Verizon; every supplier has their own special set of foibles.

OMG! See! lol.. oh wheww im not the only one.. not that this is good.. but im seriously like do I have a curse on my bill? it seriously is becoming SO annoying.. not even manageable to put up with anymore.. once it became a pattern is when I started to get so upset.. because its such a fight .. and they promise to resolve your issue the first time around and they dont I ended up having to call back like 4 times to 4 different people.. i have to explain my situation 4 times.. and its funny for something that I am overcharged $50-75.. I can't get them to explain what those charges are for..
I said ... ill be honest.. im not payin this bill until it comes down to the correct amount that is 100% the amount I owe and nothing more..
its like they have such a hard time xplaining the amount.. and dont get me wrong.. i tried looking at my "detail billing" doesnt help!!

finally though they credit me back for $48.00 for "downloading of media/ringtones"..

get this.. i havent downloaded ringtones in over a YEAR-meaning i downloaded 3 ringtones about a year or so ago.. and paid ONE time and one time only..hmmm! i have my original ringtones.. and NO media..
the rep saw that and said no problem ill credit.. it wont show up to next billing.. IM LIKE HUH!!?? i said no no .. excuse me.. please credit that to THIS bill that is WAY higher than normal.. they kept going in circles that they wouldn't and couldn't do that.. :confused3:confused::mad:

Just wonderding, have you downloaded any ringtones or anything like that? DH downloaded something for his phone only to find out that they automatically signed him up for their service, thereby applying a $9.99 charge on our bill every month. Not saying that all companies do this, but there are some that do.

After looking at our bill online in detail we noticed the charge. Called up Verizon to see how we could elimate that extra fee every month and was told we needed to send a "stop" text message to that number (the Verizon operator gave us the number). Once he did that, we haven't had the charge on since.

Could be a possible explanation as to the extra charges on your phone. Might be worth checking out unless you haven't downloaded anything.

When we had Verizon about 8 years ago this happened frequently. Every month we would have to call and let them know they got it wrong yet again. It was so tedious and frustrating to be doing their job for them. We switched to AT&T and couldn't be happier.

I keep hearing about other people still having this problem. It just seems so odd to me that something that was consistently a problem 8 years ago is still consistently a problem for this company. What gives? :confused3

Hey thanks everyone for your replies!:goodvibes Glad to see I'm not the only one, well its not good that its happening to anyone else, but there is seriously something wrong with Verizon and some customers accounts like myself! :confused3 For those of you who dont have a problem...LUCKY:) i'll tell yah nothing is more annoying then having to eagle eye watch your cell phone bill and have to waste precious time of my life AND day haha... to call them up and correct their mistakes over and over and over..

but again thanks everyonee!!:) i just had to get an idea of whats going on out there!!

I have TMobile and have never had a problem. In fact, they bumped up my "full upgrade" to get a better discount on a new phone after mine was lost and also recommended I take a feature off my account because I wasn't using it, which ended up saving me $5 a month. :goodvibes

I'm suffering with my blackberry. Verizon needs to get the iphone.

I'm due for an updgrade in December and originally I was leaning towards the BB Tour but now I'm thinking about the Touch Pro 2...plus it has wifi which is a plus, supposedly Verizon will no longer block wifi on future smartphones. :thumbsup2 The few reviews I've read so far have been excellent and a few people have even said it's better than the iphone (but bulkier).

To the OP, sorry you're having so much trouble, I've been with Verizon for almost 2 years now and have never had billing problems...in fact the first time I went way over on text messaging (thanks to DD) they removed the charges which I was very happy about!! I've always been pleased with their customer service the few times I've called.
