Ranking Shows on the Magic

My husband and I will be on the Magic after several cruises on the Dream. We want to try a smaller ship. We know we probably won’t choose to fit in all three shows. How would you rank the quality/entertainment of the three for adults? Which night is each show usually performed? We enjoy some evenings in one of the lounges or seeing a movie. Thanks for your insight-

The Magic has Tangled, Dreams, and Twice Charmed. Recommending one to miss is hard for me as Tangled and Twice Charmed are only on the Magic and Dreams is only on the classics.

Tangled is my favorite show on any of the ships. Similar to BATB on the Dream, it is a condensed version of the film. But, so well done and the music and floating lanterns are wonderful. The role of Mother Gothel is often played by a visiting Broadway star.

Dreams, like Believe on the Dream, is a compilation show, but has a much better storyline.

Twice Charmed is a very clever show that looks at Cinderella from a new point of view. It has both classic Cinderella songs and songs written specifically for the show.

If your cruise is longer than 3 nights, I would see the shows and do other things on the nights where there is a comedian/magician/guest act.

If I had to drop a show, it would be Twice Charmed, then Dreams, but I would skip both reluctantly. Like PP, Tangled is my favorite show across the entire fleet. The ‘I have a dream’ sequence is pretty much the best from any show at sea.

We’ve seen Dreams so many times that we know it line by line now, but we still enjoy it every time. Twice Charmed‘ songs aren’t memorable, but the show usually features great performances from the actors playing Lady Tremaine and the fairy godfather.

Another vote for not missing any here!

I absolutely love Twice Charmed! It seems to be the show where the performers can make parts their own a little more, and in my experience, they're hysterical.

Tangled is...Tangled. As my favorite movie, it'd be hard for me to skip, though it has new songs so it's not just a carbon copy of the movie.

Dreams is usually the last night, and while it's my least favorite show (plot, what plot?) the music is fantastic and Circle of Life usually brings a tear to my eye.

The Magic, IMO, does not have one skippable show. Tangled is amazing, Twice Charmed is great, and Dreams always makes me cry. The first two are also only available on the Magic, so I would not skip either unless you have plans to sail on the Magic again soon.

The shoes are only about an hour and 15 minutes. Why not try and fit them all in? Especially assuming you’re going on a seven day cruise. I just got off the Magic on a 4 night cruise Friday.

We are on a four night. My husband is not as Disney oriented as I am! He indulges me, but enjoys nights in a club or at a movie. We don’t see all the shows on a Royal Caribbean or Norwegian cruise when he gets me on those ships either! So I think my top priority is Tangled because it has more top picks and we will eat at Rapunzel’s , then Dream because it will have some songs and characters he is more likely to be familiar with. If we cruise the Magic again we will go from there. Gotta give a little!

This seems like a less popular opinion, but if I had to drop one for someone who wasn’t as into Disney, I’d drop Dreams. As msmama said, there’s really no plot, just a bunch of familiar Disney tunes. The special effects and songs for Twice Charmed and Rapunzel are better, in my opinion. They are all good, though, so you really can’t go wrong in picking which two to see.

Twice charmed is my favorite show fleetwide... Dreams is a classic show.. Tangled is the whole Rapunzel story in a musical version... I would recommend dropping any but since you also have Rapunzels mini shows at her restaurants Id drop that show if any
