Randy lovers .... Misty lovers .... I need YOUR help!

Choosing a photographer is definately a personal choice. My husband and I are both photographers and are very critical of the end results. We choose Randy for our wedding after many painstacking hours of looking over his work. We even had engagement pictures done at the Yacht club. Our meeting went so well we increased our package choice. We both loved the majority of our engagement pictures, everyone whom has seen them has give rave reviews. We gave Randy 5 specific shots we wanted and left the rest up to him, we did tell him some of the couples on here which we just loved there images. After recieving our wedding pictures, we feel we paid way to much. We are not happy with the images we recieved nor did he take the 5 shots we ask for. We do not have any images of our rings, which seems to be a standard shot.

We have had 4 "engagement" shoots with Misty and Nelio. We also look at images of her current couples. Their work seems to be very consistant from one couple to another. We have retained them as our photographer for our up coming vow renewal. We are very fortunate in having the ability to basically re do the wedding day. Please make sure who ever you hire you make it clear what you are looking for and show them examples of their own work which you help persuade you to hire them.

We went with Randy because we wanted natural photos, I'm not into photoshoped ones but like others have said you have the choice of both in the packages.

He seems very versatile, which I like as some photographers just seem to do the same poses. What I like is lots of his work I have seen (not so much on this site) is not posed which is more what we are after. We have great communication from him and the other vendors I have spoken too speak of him very highly.

Randy offers an album in his packages ... does anyone have a photo of what that looks like?

Misty offers a 'leather personalised box' in her packages but i cannot find a photo of this, does anyone know what this looks like?

Im not too bothered by the albums as there are such good sites out there that do great albums but im just interested in this 'package' wise...

We have booked Randy, i really love his work and think he is the best photographer for us.

We were planning on having a Disney wedding but we are thinking of having something else now. I emailed Randy to check he does wedding else where apart from Disney, and he replied saying yes he did and the Swan and Dolphin do fantastic weddings, and that he could get someone to contact me if i wished.

I sent him an email back saying, i would really appreciate it, and the next day someone contacted me from Swan and Dolphin.

It really impressed me because at the end of the day he didn't have to do that! He also said if i thought of anywhere else i like the look of, to drop him an email and he would give me his honest opinion.

I know this has nothing to do with the actual photographs but i just wanted to mention it.

I know, i sent him an email last week (just to see if he was free on our day, and to leep the option of both photographers until we decide and put deposit) and he emailed me back a few days later thanking me for my 'awsome email' and apoligized for his late reply ect ect - he sounded really nice.

I have contacted both photographers now, both said that they are free on that day. What happens when we decide- do i let the photographer we chose not to have, know that we wont be having them- how would i word it? haha! silly question but i dont like offending people and i feel like i would if i said ' hey we picked someone else'.

I was in contact with a few from here and just sent a polite email once I had made my decision. I know if it was me I would rather have a polite email then be left hanging when I could be filling up my diary!

yes thats true!

i hope to have made up my mind before xmas ... !!! they both seem like such lovely people and DF just keeps telling me to go with my heart and go with who i first 'fell in love with' photo wise. I asked him who he liked and he couldnt really choose, and both said they look like they did amazing work, and said that its most important to me so i must choose.... heh!

Hey Stacey,

I just met with Randy last weekend and am sending him a check tomorrow! I actually liked both him and Misty, and ended up going with Randy because:

1. He was too funny and a hoot when I met him! Super chill but totally agreeable.

2. He has a GREAT package with Stan from STVS video that super discounts both of them...and you can pick and choose hours you want, specific things, etc. The package made us able to have videography at our wedding as well.

Good luck with whatever you choose! I'm sure both would be fabulous!
