Random WDW Info - I Never Knew!

I don't know what the actual scences were supposed to look and sound like but I can tell you that I have watched and listened to both scenes numerous times and they appear to say sex and take off your clothes! the rescuers bit has been confirmed on several other websites! I can see how the other things could be mistaken but freeze frame that particular scene and there is no denying a topless woman. The first time I saw it my jaw hit the floor.

No, the other poster is correct. It says "take off and go" and "SFX" - The Rescuers did have the topless woman, but it has been removed from all current DVD's for quite a while.

I never said a word about the topless woman

I don't care what the other things appear to be to you
What they are is

SFX and
take off and go

Agreed! Even Snopes confirms it!

If you wanted to stay in all the guestrooms in all of the hotels and resorts currently open on Walt Disney World property (at a rate of one per night) it would take more than 72 years.

I'd be willing to attempt that!

I'd be willing to attempt that!

I'm not attempting each room, but I do have a goal of staying in each hotel. :thumbsup2 I have all the values and moderates done and two of the DVC resorts. If I wasn't so cheap I could have at least 4 deluxes done too, but I re-did values and moderates. :lmao:

The orginal concept for The Great Movie Ride ...

It was proposed to be a new attraction at Epcot..to be located between Journey into Imagination and The Land!

After the success of Typhoon Lagoon Disney wanted to open another water park..the idea for Blizzard Beach came when an Imagineer named Eric shook a snowglobe that was on his desk! Thus the idea of a snow covered water park was born!!! yay!

This may have been covered already!

Did you know the Country Bears were made for a project called "Mineral King" in Northern California? When the project was cancelled they were sent to Walt Disney World!

my leg started to fall asleep on page 36... so if this is a repeat, forgive me.

%99 of Mickey characters are female (we know one) I believe this is becuase they must be between 5'1" and 5'4" and of slim build or something like that. But its for sure true. Ive never looked at Mickey the same way since I found out... sorry if it ruins it for anyone!

no one has ever died at disney world... no matter the circumstance they are never pronounced dead until they are off property.

In terms of "aladdin", play that scene in the movie and turn on your closed captioning. It says "good boys and girls take off your clothes." I've tried it myself. Maybe that's not what was meant, but that's how closed captioning interprets it.

Also, when I was at MK in April w/ a group of high schoolers, one of our students actually caught a shoplifter and turned him in to Disney. She received a button that says "I stopped a shoplifter today." I was amazed that they had something like that ready for such an occassion.

The down-sized Eiffel Tower in Epcot is sprayed with a sticky substance so birds to not land on it. Birds would ruin the illusion of the actual size of the "force-perspective" tower. And dirty it up too.

I have a friend who was REALLY anti-Disney. Many MANY years ago he showed me a video tape once of several "obscenities" in Disney movies, including the word SEX in the dust of Lion King, a small voice that said "children take your clothes off", and many many more (some to vulger to mention here) hidden scenes and such. We went out and rented several of them out of curiousity one night. Don't get me wrong... I always thought it would be REALLY easy for an employee to "slip something" into the movie for bragging rights if it were really hard to spot, and I didn't doubt for a second that it was there. We rented most of the movies on the list, and we could not find ONE SINGLE INCIDENT mentioned. We were hoping to see something, because at the time, we weren't fans of Disney. We couldn't find anything at any of the places the stuff was supposed to be. I've seen pictures of the Little Mermaid cover, but I've never seen the cover look like those pictures. I'm not saying it's NOT true, but I have never seen it to BE true either.

I've seen these things on video myself. In "The Lion King," when Simba plops down on a pile of leaves (on the cliff), they swirl up through the air and spell out "sex." Aladdin, when he's trying to coax the tiger down (gooood kitty...)from the window in the palace, says, "good teenagers take off their clothes." In "The Little Mermaid," when the priest is starting the wedding ceremony he is "in an uncomfortable state" shall we say? (it's not on the cover...at least not on the one I have).

I haven't paid attention to these since they've been out on DVD (only when I was younger and had the video tapes), so I can't say if they're still there...I would like to think they've been edited out.

This one may have been mentioned, as the same bus driver told us on two trips that they have measured the amount of dryer lint that Disney's laundry generates in a day and the average was a little over 100 pounds a day of dryer lint!

The Wave Machine at the Polynesian Hotel

From All Ears net

When the resort opened in 1971, a wave-making machine created artificial waves that crashed onto the beach. Although it added to the authentic South Seas feel of the resort, it also created rapid beach erosion. Operation of the wave machine ceased shortly afterwards. The machine had been located on Beachcomber Island, across the way. If you look at the island while on the boat to the Magic Kingdom or Grand Floridian, you can see where the wave machine used to be.

I was reading through this thread and through some of it all I could think of was a SpongeBob Episode:

Spongebob: Patrick, what’re you doing here?
Patrick: I’m always here on Double Weenie Wednesdays.
Nerd 1: Actually they moved Double Weenie Wednesday to Friday.
Nerd 2: And besides, today’s Monday.
Patrick: Oh, so it’s Mega Weenie Monday?
Nerd 1: Uh, that’s now on Sunday.
Patrick: Barnacles!
Nerd 2: Super Weenie Hut Jr’s has a Mega Weenie Monday.
Nerd 1: Uh, no, you’re thinking of Monster Weenie Monday…
Spongebob: I don’t have time for this! I’ve got to go pick a fight with a muscular stranger! It’s the only one of getting into the Salty Spittoon!

There is a book written about a group of Disney fans who take over and run Disney World. Different groups/families are in charge of different areas. It takes place in the future. The story is online. It's called "Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom" It's kind of cool and pretty true to the parks. It is not a children's story.

I happen to have the original cover that has the phallic image on it. It is an old VHS box, purchased when the movie first came out on video a long time ago. Newer covers don't have it, but if you find someone who has an original, it is definitely there. And rather hard to miss once you see it.

I saw a copy of the VHS cover on ebay. I knew what I was looking for so I definitly saw it. However, I'm not sure I would've noticed it if I hadn't heard about the controversy. I certainly don't think the average preschooler or elementary kid would've seen anything other than a spire on a castle!

When we went to AK last, my sister asked a CM why some of the Meer Cats stand on their hind legs and look around. He told he they were watching out for danger. He also told her that they're not the brightest crayon in the box, because they've been here four years and are yet to twig that there has never been and will never be any danger :thumbsup2

Well, they're not the brightest in the animal kingdom, but they're not dumb. They stand on their hind legs for more then fear. We have some where I work and they'll stand on their hind legs when people are around, because they know they could get food. They've learned that if they pose for a picture someone might through them chips, popcorn, etc. Eventhough they're getting a good daily diet. I don't want to encourage anyone to feed the animals. It can be bad for them. We've had many animals become sick from food people have thrown to them.
