What can you tell me about Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen? Someone we know recommended it, but we'd like to get some other input.

Favorite (or least favorite if you didn't like it):
appetizer?
entree?
dessert?

Thanks!!

We ate there and it was CRAZY good! I totally recomend the sampler appetizer. I think it was the coconut shrimp- delish! And I dont normally like coconut shrimp! I thought that the kids meals were really expensive- $10. when we were there, but I ordered my dd(1) the kids grilled chicken. It came with garlic mashed potatoes, huge pieces of grilled chicken, and steamed veggies. It was enough for an adult! My dh had the trout and he said that it was really good, I dont remember what I had, but I know it was good to! The only thing we werent impressed by was the kids hamburger. It was very dry, just a plain burger. But everything else was soooo good!

It was so yummy!! DH loved the bread pudding, I am not a bread pudding lover, but it was very good. I wished we had done the banana's foster though :goodvibes I had the pasta jambalya it was delish. I can't remember what DH had, probably some type of seafood dish. I think we spent around $70-80 for the two of us, with drinks.

My favorite there right now is the blackened salmon. It is so good. I usually substitute the asparagus instead of potatoes. I didn't care too much for the potatoes, but love the asparagus. My daughter loves their pasta dish.

It's one of our favorite restaurants at Downtown Disney.

We usually stop by for the beignets which are delicious! I tried the bread pudding on our last visit and really enjoyed it...it is a very large portion - enough to share! I hope we'll be able to actually eat in the restaurant on our visit next month...it'll be DD's 18th birthday:smickey:

We had a marvellous appetizer of three small cups of different soups...I can't recall what they all were but they were really good! Every entree that our party of 14 ordered was great, I can't recall them all but I had a steak that was so big I couldn't come close to eating it all (DH helped!) and then the chocolate bread pudding for dessert was to die for and was plenty big enough for two or more to share. We had an excellent meal and excellent service there.:)

Definitely a favorite. My husband had an excellent filet mignon (I can't remember the preparation but it was something special). I think I had a NY Strip in a peppercorn sauce or something that I loved, too. The kids had great pasta dishes (off the kids menu).

A few years ago, when we ate there, we had the blackened blue cheese burger. It wasn't dry at all (maybe the kids burger is thinner so it dried out for the previous poster before it was served?). It was delicious although I would only recommend it for someone that likes blue cheese (it is loaded with it).

I think I had the bread pudding. I'm not normally a bread pudding fan, but there's is the exception.

We ate at Napa Rose the next night. While that meal was also outstanding, it wasn't any better than what we ate the night before. Plus, it was a little more pricey (although not by much).

Ok southern girl here born and raised before I moved in Louisiana. The original is in New Orleans, and is hugely popular. I have went to Ralph Brennan's. lol it was supposed to be me and then dfh, now dh, but turned into a party of us and his dad Not a prob I like my fil lol. Hey he even flipped the bill, and wound up taking us out. I am going to line these going down that way I can explain each without it running into more of a paragraph.

App- The sampler platter the larger one which served more. it contained oyster shooters, andouile sausage, I think calamari, might have had chicken. it was fairly a large platter and was darn good. The menu is saying it might have changed a bit unless they just are giving a sample menu. also the ravioli (sp) I think it was for a app AWESOME.

Soups- me, and dh had soup. He had the gumbo Ya-Ya which he really liked, and I had the 1-1-1 which wa mini cups of their most pop and the soup of the day.

Entrees- My dh had the fish, now I know it was not the salmon, or the catfish, it might have been the snapper can't remember, my FIL had the pork chops, I think they were double cut it was LARGE, and he said really good, I had the filet it was not the creole filet, it was one that came with 3 fried oysters, and crawfish mashed taters. It was VERY good.

For dessert we had- cafe au lait, beignets (I found these to be best if ordered there they seemed fresher, and hot), and the chocolate souffle (order this in avance takes about 20 mins to make it) it was GOOD, but oh so rich.

This was our time at Ralph Brennan's I am surprised I can recall it as well as I did, but the place was really good, and we would deff go back. I recommend it.

I hate the New Orlean Style Sasuage pasta. It was good.

for dessert, i had that banana dessert, its GOOD but its soo expensive.

we had coconut shrimp for an app and we both had the blakened salom and Mashed potatoes. I thought this was one of my best meals there. we I go back I will make sure that is on my list of places to eat.

The popcorn shrimp was our favorite. Very tender with a light batter. We're planning on going back at least for appetizers just because we liked it so much.

The Gumbo YaYa was good. Not as spicy as we're used to at Heaven on Seven....I should have asked for some hot sauce.

The 1 1 1 soup appetizer was french onion (little cheese, gumbo and a sweet potato soup the other night. They are tiny little cups...like pot du chocolat cups. My DH is not a fan of sweet potatoes and he thought that soup was great.

Are reservations a must for here??? And is it kid friendly???? Do they serve only dinner???
