Just wondering what the concensus is. The dinner entrees start at $26, so is it worth it? DH and I love bananas foster, but $17 for a dessert!!!

...uhhh, but have ya seen how you get that $17 dessert delivered????...That's worth the price of admission right there!

Hope you don't mind being the center of attention for a few minutes!...(that and hope your hair product isn't too flammable!)

:rotfl: I will go through all of that if it means I get bananas foster at the end! I just hope it's as good as it sounds. We would even go just for dessert, but since we have never eaten there, we figured we'd give it a try. It would be great to get some good reviews first though :)

We have eaten at the Jazz Kitchen for lunch several times and enjoyed our meals. We have tried La Brea Bakery, Naples, and ESPNZone as well, and Jazz Kitchen is definitely our favorite of these DtD restaurants. Sorry I can't offer opinions on the dinner menu or bananas foster.

True it is expensive but SO worth it. Not only fun to watch them make but SO good and it serves more than one person so if you think of it that way ;)

YES YES YES

We eat at Ralph Brennan's every trip, sometime twice. The chocolate souffle is also not to be missed. Hopefully they will have some of their great musicians playing when you are there.

We LOVED RB.The cheese bread appy is so good(The chef even emailed me the recipe after I told them how much we loved it).I can't remember what we ate but I remember it was delicious. As for the banana's foster....yuuummmm! and the tableside presentation was awesome. Did you know that Banana's Foster was invented by Ralph Brennan's!(I saw it on the Food Network last week).
So if you are looking for an upscale dining experience....:thumbsup2

Ralph Brennan's is so delicious! We make a point of going there at least once during our trip. We especially like the Sunday brunch with all the Bloody Mary options.:thumbsup2 I don't think you will be disappointed. And I don't normally care for bananas too much, but I make an exception for Bananas Foster at RB. Things taste better after being lit on fire right in front of you! :lmao:

I ate there with friends last year and they loved their meal. I wasn't very hungry so I just ordered French onion soup and a salad. The salad was fine but the soup was probably the worst F.O. soup I've ever seen. Instead of a slice of bread, they put in a few croutons and there was NO cheese. It was an expensive bowl of bouillon.

One of my friends had a steak dinner that looked wonderful and she said it was cooked perfectly. I don't remember what the other friend had, but she was happy with it. We were all shocked at the soup.

My advice is stay away from the soup :rotfl:

On a side note, I never miss getting an order of beignets at least one of the mornings I'm at DLR! :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for the replies! We will take your advice and keep our PS on the 30th. I am going to be dreaming about the bananas foster for the next 9 days!

Delicious food whatever you order. We were there last week and had to go back a second time because the first dinner was so good. Had the drunken chicken and Buttermilk fried pork. Bengiets for dessert. Sorry about spelling ,French is not my strong suit. Almost forgot , Red Velvet Cake, very rich but enough for two or three to enjoy for dessert.

I'm not a big fan of the soups at RBJK either, but man I've loved everything else I've had there. I had the soup sampler (you get 3 small servings of different soups) and I loved the Lobster Tomato Bisque....but I didn't care for the others at all. And I adore FO soup!!! Did NOT like it at RB. But again, everything else I've had there has been amazing. I love the beef medallions......

It was so funny reading your post, because DH and I had been looking at the menu, and he thought that the soup trio sounded good, and I wanted the beef medallions :rotfl::rotfl: I will have to try the Lobster Bisque!!! We were both wondering about the crawfish mashed potatoes??? I apologize for asking, but what does a crawfish taste like? The other potatoes sound yummy too. This thread has made me hungry!

Thanks again to everyone who replied :goodvibes It really does help to make decisions, and when a restaurant is this expensive, you want to make sure it's worth the money. What would I do without the DIS?

The crawfish mashed potatoes are soooooo good:love:. Crawfish tastes like a cross between lobster and shrimp... IMHO

I second that!!! Those potatoes are to die for!!! I really wasn't too excited to eat here and it came out being my favorite place we ate for the 8 days we were there! I had fried catfish with a yummy sauce over it and my mom had some type of creamy pasta...good stuff!

We loved our dinner there!! It's a ton of food.....I think next time we'll just go with appetizers & dessert......

We did the Banana's Foster & it was FABULOUS!!!

Holy  That picture decided it for me! I will need a countdown ticker for that dessert :rotfl:

Thanks Susie and Abbie for the crawfish mashed potato opinions. I love shrimp and lobster, so I will have to give them a try. Between the bananas foster and the yummy potatoes, I will gain 10 pounds :lmao: It will be worth it though I am sure!
