Raise Your Voice - No changes to SSR booking categories

There are only 2 buildings in the Carousel and those that book late, could stay there and know they are staying there no matter how much they complain.
The problem is now, that people that don't own at SSR or even want to stay at SSR, or did not book in their preferred window, show up, pitch a fit, and get what they want. Those of us that love it and would never treat the CM's that way, get stuck with what's left.
Sometimes these same people are only staying a day or two because their waitlist didnt come thru for where they really wanted to stay, so they booked SSR at the last minute, but they still want the primo location at SSR. This hurts those of us who stay longer by breaking up the prime locations between shorter stay guests and leaving less desireable locations (the Carousel) for those that want longer stays in the same unit.

This absolutely sums it up for me and says exactly why we definitely need booking catagories at SSR.

We will have to agree to disagree. From what I see at OKW is mixed results and not all out success. I have no opinion on BWV. I have stayed there and found that resort lacking in ways. That is why the resorts are different. The only feature I like about BWV categories are the difference in points from standard and preferred/boardwalk view.

There are a lot of non-DVC members who stay at SSR. We shouldn't assume that it is only members who "pitch a fit". Perhaps members get "stuck" in Carousel because CMs are trying to placate the cash customers. It happens, sometimes at members' expense.

All that said, I absolutely believe that some DVC members have an extraordinary sense of entitlement. It helps them forget that lots of other people are members and also spent "thousands of dollars". I wish Disney would not allow the "fit pitchers" to ever get what they want. It's the only way to stop toddlers' tanturms - make sure they know it never works!).

So true, I think many think that DVC ownership makes them owner of the company. Then they forget that the great owners/bosses are the ones that work with their employees (CM's) to implement a great product and instead become the type of bosses that demand "the beatings will continue until morale improves"

I sent an email to DVC member services advising I was against booking categories and received the following reponse:

Thank you for contacting Member Services. We have no plans to create
separate booking categories at DISNEY'S SARATOGA SPRINGS Resort & Spa at
this time. The only booking category that we are planning on adding to
the resort will be the new Treehouse Villas which will be available next
year. Please visit the Members Only website, www.dvcmember.com, from
time to time for updates on the new addition to your Home Resort.

I have a suggestion.

Don't waste your breath or keystrokes.

None of us is going to change each others mind.

The ONLY people that it really matters if they KNOW how you think are the folks that run DVC. So tell them. There's no need to argue amoung ourselves on here.
