I looked at the Rainforest Cafe website, and it does not say how much it is to join. Anyone know? Also- do you think it is worth it? I was going to use Mypoints for giftcards, and then use it when we go to Disneyland next.

HI,
I've joined the RFC Safari Club.
I really do forget how much it cost. I am thinking maybe $15, no more than that. With your initial purchase you would receive a free appetizer with your meal and then everytime there after you receive a free or half price appetizer, I really don't remember. I do know that it was a good deal at the time though, or we wouldn't have signed up for it. If you like RFC and try to eat there on most of your vacations, then I say go for it. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

It is $15 to join and you receive a $10 gift certificate with your card in the mail. The $15 membership is good for life - not just one year. You can also save 10% in the gift shops as well as receiving more gift certificates on your birthday and anniversary. I think it is VERY worth it!

I see you are a DVC member , you get 10% off food and I think 15% off gift shop, with your DVC card and also with AP's.

Also, as long as you purchase an entree, you get a free appetizer or 10% off entire check. We usually get the appetizer. I've never even realized there WAS a dvc discount...good to know! The discount/perks are also available at other restaurants that are associated with Rainforest Cafe, can't think of what they are right now. It is definitely worth it since it's good for life!

And, for parties less than 6 people, you can get the next available table for your party size without waiting.

For our local RFC this always comes in handy :thumbsup2 . I'm not sure if it applies to the WDW RFC's.

It does apply to WDW RFC's . . . when I signed up, there was an hour and a half wait. I walked over to the counter in the shop and paid for my membership. So about 2 minutes after walking away from the podium, I walk back and tell the guy, "Now I have this" and show him the temporary card and he started laughing (not an offensive kind of laugh, just a "ahh, you figured out the trick, huh?" laugh) He got us in within a few minutes. It was great. All those people standing around and nobody knew they could do it - perhaps I should have filled them in.

But yeah, it was $15 when I signed up. We don't have one near us so my $10 expired before I could use it, and ever birthday certificate I've used has expired before I could use them. But just with the 10% off each time (I've used it in WDW and Vegas) I've MORE than paid for my membership. Just the head of the line perks was worth the money so the 10% off is bonus.

omg, i forgot about this perk! it is great! at DTD, the line was a mile long just to get to the podium, i walked up to the size and was just going to ask if there was a separate line for safari club and she said, you are safari club? i said yes and she said, follow me and we were seated! when they say PRIORITY, they mean priority!

True, but the Safari Club card is good at any RFC nationwide as well as a list of other restaurants in their group. DVC is only good at the WDW locations.

I want to join before we go in Sept. my cousin is going in August could she purchase it for me?

How long are the coupons good for that you get when you sign up and then for birthdays and anniversaries? We don't go very often and am wondering how long we would have to use them. Also, could those be used at their other restaurants too?

We have one and love it! The $10 gift certificate really makes the card only cost $5 and we have more than made up for that. We are pretty close to a location though and are able to use it often. Usually, DH orders an entree, DD gets a kids meal, and I get the free appetizer! There is plenty because of the large portions. The only caution is to be careful who's name is on the card. We put ours in my DH's name. It stated clearly on the paperwork that came with the card that he needs to be with us in order to use the card. If we would have known that, we would have put it in my name since DD and I are often at the mall around the Rainforest and could have used it.

I totally forgot about the priority seating! We haven't really needed to use it here, but I'm sure we will at Disney! It's good to know about that perk! Only 2 1/2 days till we're there :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc !:Pinkbounc

I called RFC about this and was told they honor expired GC. We'll see if they do next week! :thumbsup2

Wow, let us know how it works - I've tossed probably $30 in GCs because they "expired" before I ever get to a RFC.

As long as she has all of your information (it's been awhile since I filled my application out - but I'm almost positive it's just the usuals. . . name, address, phone number, birthdate, etc) I'd definitely have her get it for you if you can - you should have the $10 GC back by your trip, I think I had mine in a couple weeks.

Is there somehwere to sign up for this online.....or maybe a number to call? Would love to hear if they accept the expired gift certs too!

Unless they changed recently, you have to sign up in person. I called the number on their site for the club and was told there is no way to do it online or over the phone. You'd think they'd update the site and their system to allow you to join online. . . or at the very least over the phone.

Unless something has changed since I got mine, you get the next available table period...regardless of party size. Keep in mind that this is good for any of the Landry restaurants...RFC is just one of them...there's Joes Crab Shack, Landry Seafood, Houston's...etc.
My membership has been useful a number of times.

Keep in mind that the $10 certificate is mailed to you in about 6 weeks, so you don't get to use it the day you sign up.
