Rainforest Cafe Safari Club

FYI on the coupons. When we were at the Rainforest in Animal Kingdom, I mentioned we had received coupons in the past but they always expire before we returned to Disney (there isn't one near us either). The manager said they print an expiration date but really they accept them no matter what. We haven't used one yet but I have been saving them instead of tossing them. We'll see....it's worth a try!

I've been a member for years, and I've had the initial $15 back several times over! They send you a first gift certificate for $10 along with your membership card, then they send $5 gift certificates a couple times a year -- is it on my birthday and anniversary? I'm not sure.

They will accept expired gift certificates, which is good for me because I only use the RFC card at Disney. The gift certificates are good for food OR in their gift shop. You also get a 10% discount in their store.

The most valuable feature, however, is the head-of-the-line pass. It's never failed to save us LOTS of time in line. Very few people have this card, so you can count on being seated quickly.

One word of warning: Don't lose your card like I did. It's $5 for a replacement card.

My other warning: Drink water at the RFC. Their sodas are $2.50 each! I think their food is reasonably priced (well, reasonable for everything else at Disney), but their drinks are foolishly expensive!

Thanks for the tip - I never knew the accepted expired GCs either and have thrown too many away to mention. :(

I to have a safari club and have used it often to bypass the LONG waiting line.

I do have a question on the expiration of the card. In fine print on the form, it states that if you do not use your card during a calendar year, it will expire.

Does anyone know about the fine print on the back??

When we signed up, we had a RFC about 20 minutes from the house and would go a couple of times a year. However, we have moved and there are no Landry (is that the company name??) restaurants near our new home.

Thanks!

I believe that you can renew it for $5 if it does expire. You used to be able to do so over the phone. Call 800-552-6379 ext. 5235 and ask.

I can't remember if it was this club, or another, but I remember reading that if you call before it expires and just explain that you don't live near any of their restaurants and you use it for vacations that they'll set it up so that your account won't lapse at the 1 year mark.
